Fremont East Will Be the Place for The Highest Mezcal-iber
Cocktails on National Mezcal Day and Beyond
Corner Bar Management, the group behind a parlay of exciting nighttime venues and eateries on Fremont Street is bringing the smoke for National Mezcal Day this Saturday, Oct. 21, with delicious cocktails available at Lucky Day, Peyote and La Mona Rosa to properly celebrate the occasion. Additionally, mezcal fans can also rejoice at the return of Mezcal Motel, La Mona Rosa’s monthly celebration of the spirit featuring live music and an exclusive menu presented by Madre Mezcal.
There’s no better place to celebrate National Mezcal Day in Las Vegas than Lucky Day, Fremont East’s rare tequila and mezcal bar. Mezcal enthusiasts can delight in a rich selection of hard-to-find mezcals, available on the rocks or for order in pre-made flights carefully selected by Lucky Day’s team of mezcal experts. Guests can choose from two flight options, Mezcal #1, featuring three half ounce pours of the venue’s best Espadín style mezcals or Mezcal #2, featuring three half ounce pours of the venue’s best Cenizo style mezcals. Lucky Day also offers delicious house-crafted mezcal cocktails including Hijo de Bruja, made with mezcal, prickly pear, lime and Chartreuse; El Elotero, made with Vago Elote Mezcal, Tito’s, chardonnay, agave, spicy bitters and Tajín; and Spicy Pepino, made with mezcal, jalapeños, cucumber, Ancho Reyes Verde, agave and citrus. Guests looking to share the love are also in luck, with the venue also serving a punch-bowl style mez-cocktail: Scorpion Punch, crafted for maximum fun with mezcal, watermelon liqueur, nightshade, pepper syrup, house sour, lime juice and topped off with a festive scorpion garnish.
Lucky Day will not be the only place where guests can indulge in the smokey delight of mezcal. If they head down the block to Peyote, the retro Palm Springs-inspired dessert oasis located at Ferguson’s Downtown, they’ll be able to try La Caterina, made with 400 Conejos Mezcal, wood roasted pineapple, blood orange bitters and lime. Corner Bar’s Tulum inspired hideaway La Mona Rosa, also features the Pasión Tropical, made with mezcal, rum, passion fruit, lemon, honey and bubbles.
La Mona Rosa’s popular Mezcal Motel is also returning Sunday, Oct. 29 after a highly successful debut in August. Presented by Madre Mezcal, the event’s second iteration features an exclusive mezcal menu and a live performance by the Vegas-grown jam band Los Plátanos. Cocktails available include Baja Hoodie, made with Madre Mezcal, pineapple, lime and cinnamon; Say Aloha with Mezcal, made with Madre Mezcal, Hawaiian Island Syrup and lime; and Madre Light Our Way, made with Madre Mezcal, creme de cassis and Mexican fernet. Additionally, guests will be able to try Madre Mezcal Espadín, a neatly poured, on the rocks mezcal from the Oaxaca region that’s both rich and complex with notes of fresh ginger, pine, sandalwood and light mesquite. Running for two hours from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m., registration for the guest list and table reservations are available here.
