Freedom Beat and Chef Scott Commings Heading Home for the Holiday Season

Freedom Beat’s Culinary Road Trip Makes Final Stop of the Year:
“Back Home” for the Holiday Season
Chef Scott Commings To Close Out His 2017 Monthly Dinner Series on Friday, December 1st Inside The Downtown Grand Hotel & Casino
With destinations that have included Colorado, New Orleans, Philadelphia, New York, Texas and Wisconsin (to name a few), Freedom Beat’s Culinary Road Trip, curated by Chef Scott Commings, has served hundreds of regionally inspired meals in its inaugural year.  To celebrate the culmination of the tastiest excursion of 2017, Chef Scott is taking his guests home for the holidays on Friday, December 1st at the Downtown Grand Hotel & Casino with a menu guaranteed to deliver all the cozy feels of a winter family feast.
This intimate monthly dinner series designed to be family-style and interactive (normally limited to 25 guests inside Freedom Beat), has been extended to 40 guests inside the Las Vegas Room to ensure there’s plenty of leg room for all of the loyal travelers who have made multiple road trips with Chef Scott this year.  “This started off as just a fun way for me to expose Las Vegas to some of my favorite cuisines from across the country,” notes Commings  “but it has turned into this incredibly personal experience for myself and the guests. It has become a very family-like event and where I’m from, there’s only one place to go with your family for the holidays, and that’s back home.”
The Beginnings will feature a holiday classic; Roasted Butternut Squash Soup along with Crème Fraiche & Toasted Pumpkin Seeds while the second course serves up a helping of Stuffed West Coast Clams and Bacon lardons and béchamel. The entrée looks to literally bring it all home with Slow Roasted Porchetta, Potatoes Gratin, and Braised Greens.
