FERRARO’S ITALIAN RESTAURANT & WINE BAR TO INTRODUCE NEW NAME, EXTERIOR RENOVATION
Award-Winning, Family-Run Restaurant Welcomes Mimmo Ferraro Back as Executive Chef
The award-winning, fine-dining establishment known for nearly 37 years as Ferraro’s Italian Restaurant & Wine Bar, announces it will now be known as Ferraro’s Ristorante. The restaurant renowned for its authentic Italian fare and elegant ambience also welcomes Mimmo Ferraro back to the kitchen as executive chef. In addition, later this spring, the restaurant will debut a dramatic exterior renovation.
“In order to stay relevant in the restaurant business, we must be willing to make necessary updates over the years,” explains Gino Ferraro, owner, Ferraro’s. “At the same time, we’re committed to remaining a family-run business and are gratified to have Chef Mimmo return to helm our kitchen, which will continue to specialize in authentic Italian dishes using the best ingredients.”
The latest renovation will include a new, white stone façade, new signage, new lighting and a contemporary door. Representing a departure from its previous “Old World” look, Ferraro’s new design elements will introduce a more modern and welcoming aspect to the restaurant, while complementing the interior renovations that were completed in 2021. Exterior renovations will be completed in mid-May.
Chef Mimmo Ferraro returns to Ferraro’s kitchen after taking spending several years focusing on the family’s fast-casual Pizza Forte and Ferraro’s Italian Street Eats concepts at Virgin Hotels, T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas Ballpark and Allegiant Stadium. Son of Ferraro’s owners Gino and Rosalba Ferraro, Mimmo grew up in his family’s bustling business. He remembers pricing deli items and slicing cold cuts at the original deli and pizzeria location when he was just eight years old. When he was 11, he recalls bussing tables in the dining room and standing on a milk crate in the restaurant kitchen to make his own pasta. After graduating from Las Vegas’ Cimarron Memorial High School, Mimmo attended the University of Nevada, Las Vegas where he found himself daydreaming about the restaurant and creating new dishes. Mimmo went on to study at the California Culinary Academy in San Francisco, where his lifelong restaurant experience gave him an edge among his fellow students. He perfected his culinary skills and his conversational Italian while studying under acclaimed chef Davide Mazzuoli at LaGrotta Ristorante in Tuscany. Mimmo brings a sincere appreciation for the beauty and simplicity of authentic Italian cuisine and the evocative potential of the freshest herbs and ingredients. Under Mimmo, Ferraro’s menu continues to offer the time-honored, traditional dishes so beloved by his family and the restaurant’s patrons.
