LADY REBELS CONTINUE MW PLAY AT BOISE STATE SATURDAY
UNLV and Boise State will tip-off on Saturday, Jan. 4 at 5:00 p.m. PT/ 6:00 p.m. MT at ExtraMile Arena
The UNLV Lady Rebels are looking for their fourth straight win and will continue Mountain West play on the road at Boise State on Saturday, Jan. 4 at 5 p.m. PT/6 p.m. CT. The Scarlet & Gray are 2-0 in league play for the fourth consecutive season and are currently on a 19-game MW road game win streak.
ABOUT BOISE STATE: This marks the first meeting out of the two this season. The squads will meet again in Las Vegas on Feb. 26. The Lady Rebels lead the overall series 17-12 over the Broncos and have won the past seven contests. In the La Rocque era the Scarlet & Gray is 7-1 against Boise State. The Broncos head into Saturday’s game with an 11-4 overall record and 1-1 Mountain West record. Boise State is coming off a 66-55 victory over Air Force. Natalie Pasco and Tatum Thompson lead the Broncos in points, each scoring in double-digits. Pasco currently averages 11.2 points per game and Thompson is averaging 10.6 points per game, respectively. Abby Muse is the rebounder leader, bringing down 6.7 boards per game.

SQUAD LEADERS: UNLV currently has four players scoring in double-figures and are led by Amarachi Kimpson with 14.0 points per game and she is also tied for the team-lead in made field goals 5.0 per game. Kiara Jackson is the second leading scorer who is averaging 12.6 points per game and leads the Lady Rebels in assists with 5.0 per game. Alyss Brown leads the squad in rebounds, bringing down 6.7 per game. Meadow Roland is close behind in rebounds with 6.6 per game.
NON-CONFERENCE WRAP: The Lady Rebels played the 23rd toughest non-conference schedule in the nation finishing with a solid 8-4 performance. UNLV collected two double-digit wins over Power Conference teams with 19-point wins over both UCF (Big 12) and DePaul (Big East). The Scarlet & Gray played opponents from nine different conferences in their non-conference slate.
LAST TIME ON THE COURT: Four different Lady Rebels scored in double-figures as UNLV earned a 90-70 victory over San Jose State on Wednesday afternoon at the Provident Credit Union Event Center. Kiara Jackson and Amarachi Kimpson each dropped 20 points to lead the Lady Rebels. Jackson shot 8-for-12 from the field, 3-for-4 from the three-point line and was a perfect 1-for-1 at the free throw line. Jackson also led the squad in assists with five. Kimpson shot 7-for-15 from the field, made a three and did not miss a free throw being 5-for-5 on the day. Meadow Roland put up 12 points for the fourth consecutive game shooting 4-for-6 from the field and 4-for-5 at the line. Roland led the squad in blocks tying her career-high with three. Alyssa Brown picked up her second double-double of the season scoring 10 points and bringing down 10 rebounds. Brown additionally led UNLV in steals with three on the day. The Scarlet & Gray had their best three-point shooting game of the season shooting 50.0% (10 of 20) from long range.
THREE-PEAT LAST SEASON: The Lady Rebels have continued to bring the heat last season, which culminated with a third consecutive Mountain West Regular Season and Tournament Titles. UNLV became the first program in MW history to claim both titles in three straight seasons. The Scarlet & Gray earned its third automatic bid to the NCAA tournament, a first in both program and league history. The Lady Rebels finished the season only one of two squads to have two (South Carolina) straight seasons with 30 wins. UNLV earned its highest ranking in both the AP and Coaches Poll coming in at No. 20 and No. 19. The Lady Rebels appeared in the Top-25 eight times this season and came into the season receiving votes for the first time in 19 years. UNLV claimed the MW’s Player of the Year in Desi-Rae Young (All-MW Team and All-Defensive Team), and Sixth and Freshman of the Year with Amarachi Kimspon (All-MW Team honorable mention and All-Freshman MW Team). Kiara Jackson earned All-MW team accolades and Alyssa Brown was named MW Tournament MVP.
WHAT UP SQUAD: The Lady Rebels return 10 of the 14 players from its 2024 championship squad, including two starters and Mountain West Sixth Player and Freshman of the Year Amarachi Kimpson. UNLV added two freshmen guards Teagan Colvin and Elli Guiney, and junior transfer Aaliyah Alexander from Eastern Washington.
