Engelbert Humperdinck: The 50th Anniversary Tour Comes to The Orleans Showroom Feb. 25-26
Engelbert Humperdinck will bring his 50th Anniversary Tour to The Orleans Showroom on Feb. 25-26.
Humperdinck found early success in Europe in the mid-1960’s with the hit single “Release Me,” which spent 56 weeks in the Top 50 of the U.K. charts and reached #1 in 11 countries. His hits continued with the ballads “There Goes My Everything” and “The Last Waltz.” In 1969, his self-titled album peaked at #5 on both the U.S. and U.K. charts.
Humperdinck continued to produce hits in the 1970’s, including “After the Lovin’,” which became a Top-10 single in the U.S. and earned Gold designation. His album of the same name charted in the Top 20 in the U.S. and was a Double-Platinum success for Humperdinck. As the years went on, Humperdinck became a household name thanks to appearances on “The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson” and popular television shows “The Love Boat,” “Hotel” and “Fantasy Island.”
Throughout the years, Humperdinck has recorded with many fellow music legends, including Elvis Presley, Elton John, Kenny Rogers, Neil Sedaka, Gloria Gaynor, Willie Nelson and others. Humperdinck has recorded 64 Gold albums, 35 Platinum albums and has been nominated for four Grammy Awards. In addition, he has sold more than 140 million records worldwide.
