with Special Cigar and Tequila Pairings

To celebrate Mexican Independence Day, Eight Lounge, a lush cigar and cocktail lounge at Resorts World Las Vegas, will feature cigar and tequila pairings from carefully curated collections of rare and hard to find cigars and tequila, on Saturday, September 16. The cigar and spirits experts at Eight Lounge have hand-selected a menu of five tequilas and two cigars to showcase the aged agave flavors that complement the tobaccos found in the lounge’s custom-built, walk-in humidor.
The day’s featured menu includes pours of Casa Dragones Añejo, a proprietary blend of 100% Blue Weber agave that has been aged in two different oak barrels for more than a year yielding tequila with notes of pear, nutmeg and blackberry with a finish of cocoa and light spice, priced at $50. Also featured is Patrón El Alto, handcrafted from 100% Blue Weber agave grown in Jalisco, Mexico with aromas of caramel, dried fruit and vanilla for a slightly sweet taste, priced at $55; Volcan X.A, a blend of reposado, Añejo and extra Añejo tequilas made from 100% Blue Weber agave for a sweet, smooth finish with a hint of spices, priced at $65; and Clase Azul Ultra, made from 100% Blue Weber agave, aged first in American whiskey casks then in Spanish sherry casks for five years creating a flavor profile that includes dried plums, cinnamon, crème caramel, vanilla and crystalized ginger, priced at $400. For those who prefer reposado tequilas, the lounge will also offer Dame Mas Premium Reposado made from 100% Blue Weber agave that has aged for 11 months in French cognac barrels for a flavor profile of light oak with hints of hazelnut and vanilla, priced at $55.
To pair with the featured tequilas, the lounge will showcase the La Palina White Label Churchill and Padron 1964 Presidente Natural cigars, priced at $27 and $50 respectively. Known for its elegant and complex flavor profile characterized by creamy textures and subtle spice, the La Palina presents nuanced flavors including earthy, woody and slightly nutty notes. The creaminess from the cigar’s smoke complements the velvety mouthfeel of many aged tequilas creating a comforting and indulgent sensation. The Padron is described as having notes of cedar, earthiness and leather with a touch of sweetness which balances well on the palate with the caramel, vanilla, spice and oak flavors from aged Añejo or extra Añejo. The agave sweetness can cleanse the palate, allowing guests to experience the rich and complex flavors of the cigar while preventing an overload of flavors and aromas.
Eight’s architecturally stunning space offers a 7,000-square-foot lounge, two private rooms and a spacious 2,200-square-foot outdoor terrace with views of the Las Vegas Strip.
