Electro-legend, Gary Numan, to Perform at Hard Rock Live Las Vegas Friday, March 7
WHAT:
Electro-legend, Gary Numan, brings his Splinter Tour 2014 to Hard Rock Live with Big Black Delta and Roman Remains on Friday, March 7th.
Numan broke into the scene in the late 70’s as front man for Tubeway Army. The creative force behind the punk-influenced electro pioneers, the band hit No.1 on the UK charts with the release of their most widely known song “Are ‘Friends’ Electric?” off of their number one chart topping album, Replicas.
The following year Numan found global success after going solo with the release of his classic album The Pleasure Principle which featured the worldwide hit single ‘Cars’. The album was a rock album, sans guitars. Numan opted to use synthesizers fed through guitar effects pedals to achieve his now trademark distorted sound.
Known for his influence as the pioneer of commercial electronic and industrial music, Numan witnessed a revival in his career as he began receiving recognition from his peers. The release of Nine Inch Nails reworked version of ‘Metal’ and Foo Fighters cover of ‘Down in The Park’ helped to keep Numan’s music in the spotlight. Never one to stop innovating and pushing new boundaries, as is evidenced on his latest release, Splinter (Songs From A Broken Mind), the heaviest and most accomplished electro album to date, which features collaborations with guitarist Robin Finck of Nine Inch Nails.
Numan’s energetic presence never ceases to please The Numanoids, as his loyal army of fans call themselves, which have stuck by Numan through the decades and all of his musical incarnations.
