NEVADA’S FOURTH ANNUAL
WALK WITH ME
TAKES STRIDES FOR DISABILITY AWARENESS
2-Mile Walk and Easter Carnival Held at Bunker Park, Saturday, April 7 at 9 a.m.
March alongside community leaders and local heroes at the fourth annual Walk With Me event to benefit Easter Seals Nevada.
On Saturday, April 7, at 9 a.m., join friends and families at W. Wayne Bunker Family Park for a fun-filled day including a two-mile walk, live music by School of Rock and Easter activities for the whole family all to benefit Nevadans living with disabilities.
“We are so grateful for the community’s generosity and support at our annual signature event, Walk With Me,” says Brian Patchett, president and CEO of Easter Seals Nevada. “We’re excited to be a part of Las Vegas’ Easter weekend traditions while helping more than 6,000 Nevadans with disabilities.”
Gather colleagues, friends and family to register as a team and collect pledges in support of those in our community who need a helping hand this Easter. Participants who raise more than $40 receive a Walk With Me t-shirt. Proceeds support Easter Seals Nevada and its mission to help individuals with disabilities become self-sufficient through direct services, education and community partnerships. Registration and additional information is available at walkwithme.org/lasvegas.
Pre-walk festivities including event kickoff speeches and entertainment begin at 9 a.m., followed by the two-mile walk at 9:30 a.m. All participants will have the opportunity to meet and walk with Easter Seals’ 2012 “Honorary Ambassadors” – individuals who have directly benefited from the support received through Easter Seals’ programs.
At 10:15 a.m., Easter Seals presents its Easter Carnival featuring an Easter egg hunt, photos with the Easter Bunny, games and activities for the family, food, music and more. For a donation of $5 participants will receive entry into the Easter egg hunt. This year’s event will also feature a special performance by School of Rock, the local chapter of the music school inspiring kids to rock on stage and in life.
Supporters unable to walk in the event can contribute by sponsoring a walker or making an event donation at walkwithme.org/lasvegas. Easter Seals Nevada also invites local companies to attend the Walk With Me Kickoff Breakfast on Wednesday, February 15 to learn how to get involved with the event. Contact Pam Lang at 702-789-5435 or [email protected] to RSVP for the Kickoff Breakfast or to find out about volunteer or corporate sponsorship opportunities.
