DOLLY PARTON, JENNIFER NETTLES, EXILE, RONNIE DUNN, RANDY TRAVIS AND MORE FEATURED IN THE LATEST EPISODE OF ‘THE PICKUP’
Continuing the tradition of presenting the top stories in country music, another all-new episode of the “The Pickup” features a look inside the performance list announced for the 50th Annual Country Music Awards, Dolly Parton’s “Christmas of Many Colors: Circle of Love,” Exile’s new Christmas album and more!
The 50th Annual Country Music Awards aired on November 2 on ABC. The memorable show opener featured 12 country legends that culminated with Randy Travis singing the last line of “Forever and Ever, Amen.” Tim McGraw sang the CMA Song of the Year, “Humble and Kind.” Rounding out the show, country artists like Kacey Musgraves and Jennifer Nettles paid tribute to Lifetime Achievement Award recipient, Dolly Parton.
Ronnie Dunn’s new album, Tattooed Heart, debuted at number one on iTunes. Kix Brooks joined Ronnie Dunn for a special reunion duet on the album’s single, “Damn Drunk.”
Shane Owens is releasing his highly anticipated debut album, Where I’m Comin’ From, on December 9th. His acoustic music video for “19” premiered on Country Rebel on November 11th. The new artist is about to take the country music world by storm!
Lee Greenwood took to Fox and Friends this Veterans Day to perform his hit “God Bless the USA.” He was announced as the new ambassador for the Disabled American Veterans Charity ‘Keep the Promise Campaign.’ DAV connects one million veterans with education, healthcare and employment opportunities each year.
Dolly Parton’s “Christmas of Many Colors: Circle of Love” will air November 30 on NBC. Parton’s original film, “Coat of Many Colors”, drew 15.9 million viewers and aired on NBC in December of 2015. The holiday season is coming a little early this year the continuing story of her childhood into Christmas time. Jennifer Nettles stars as Dolly’s mom.
Exile released their first ever Christmas album putting their own spin on holiday classics like “Little Drummer Boy,” “Santa Claus Is Coming To Town,” and “O Holy Night,” but perhaps the biggest gift of the album comes in the three original Christmas songs.
