DISCOVERY Children’s Museum Turns Back Time With ADULTS-ONLY Totally 80’s NIGHT, July 28

Guests of All Ages Can Experience Totally 80’s Week at the Museum from July 21-28

 

Dust off your leg warmers and tube socks and head to DISCOVERY Children’s Museum for Totally 80’s Week, July 21 – 28. The week culminates with Totally 80’s Night on Saturday, July 28 from 7 to 9:30 p.m., an exclusive 21+ event benefitting DISCOVERY and Junior Achievement of Southern Nevada.

 

Totally 80’s Night promises to take guests back in time to the decade of totally radical fashion, fun music and funky style. Early bird admission is $20 for museum members and $35 for nonmembers. On July 22, ticket prices increase to $50. Tickets include access to the entire museum, one signature cocktail, light bites, a retro candy bar, karaoke, music and dancing, glow-in-the-dark graffiti, rad science demonstrations, a photo booth and more.

 

Guests are encouraged to dress up in iconic 80’s fashion or as their favorite 80’s star or character. During the event, a special appearance will be made by Ghostbusters of Las Vegas.

 

Additional activities for the night include an 80’s Style Station ($10), Spin Art ($20) and a Trivia Tournament ($40 per team of four people). Guests interested in the trivia tournament are encouraged to register and purchase tickets in advance.

 

During the week leading up to Totally 80’s Night, DISCOVERY guests can celebrate 80’s Week with themed programming including:

  • Arts & Humanities: Create art inspired by the 80’s!
  • Science: Learn about the science behind 1980’s inventions such as the plasma ball, compact discs and Doppler radar.
  • Early Childhood: Explore and play with popular toys and games from the 80’s, including Pound Puppies and Care Bears!

 

Families looking to bring the fun of the 80’s home can stop at the DISCOVERY Children’s Museum Store for popular toys and fashion accessories. Items for sale include Strawberry Shortcake, My Little Pony, Pac Man and Atari video games.
