Lundi Gras celebration will also premiere interactive techno-spectacular surprise
With over five million albums sold, 11 GRAMMY nominations, membership in the Grand Ole Opry, a multitude of CMA, CMT, & ACM nominations and awards, and ten No. 1 songs, country rocker Dierks Bentley will headline the Krewe of Orpheus’ 2015 Orpheuscapade.
The event will also feature the 2015 Orpheuscapad premiere of a dazzling hi-tech experience which promises to bring audience engagement to an entirely new level. “We are very excited to not only bring another first to Mardi Gras but to do it in the theatrical fashion for which the Krewe of Orpheus is known,” offered Sonny Borey, Krewe Captain.
No Limits, the nationally acclaimed 11-piece show band, and Wes Raymond & the Soul Factory will be on hand for the Lundi Gras festivities along with other musical entertainment, including a special pre-event performance of NOCCA alumni in celebration of the art school’s 40th anniversary.
The 2015 parade, themed The Magic of An Ordinary Day, will see the introduction of revolutionary new uplighting on every float as well as the debut of an enhanced Leviathan. The signature krewe float will showcase an additional innovative lighting system and more extreme special effects.
The Orpheuscapade will be held at the Morial Convention Center on the eve of Mardi Gras, Monday, February 16, 2015. For information and tickets: 504-822-7211 or www.kreweoforpheus.com.
About The Krewe of Orpheus
Founded in 1993 by Captain Sonny Borey and Harry Connick, Jr., the Krewe of Orpheus derives its name from the mortal Orpheus, son of the god Apollo and the muse Calliope. One of the city’s “super krewes”, Orpheus is consciously nonexclusive and New Orleans most diverse krewe boasting 1,200 members from all walks of life. The parade rolls on Lundi Gras and culminates with the Orpheuscapade, a black-tie party that draws thousands of revelers to welcome the floats through the convention center as they are entertained by world-renowned musicians.
