COOL OFF AT HISTORIC WATER STREET DISTRICT’S LOCAL CHEF CHALLENGE EVENT FOR LAST FRIDAY CULINARY BATTLE – FRIDAY, JULY 26

Summerlin versus Henderson Chef Talents, Daniel Stramm and Teddy Jefferson, to go Head-to-Head in Just Add Water Street Cooking Competition

This Last Friday chef challenge will be a battle of the “burbs” with two local chefs from Summerlin and Henderson to face off Friday, July 26. This month’s event plans to pack a splash with three, giant water slides prominently positioned at historic Water Street in Downtown Henderson, where attendees will be able to cool off from the street heat and enjoy street-side entertainment, food vendors, retail pop-ups, live music and more from 7-11 p.m.

Just steps away from the main stage of the amphitheater of City Hall in Henderson beginning at 8 p.m., the chef challenge will consist of two area chefs who will be provided proteins furnished by Mikuni Harvest. They’ll then have to create two plates in less than 45 minutes. Locals will have a chance to cheer on some of Las Vegas’s most adored, local chef talent vying to claim victory.

The two competitors set to go head-to-head are Downtown Summerlin’s, Daniel Stramm, Chef de Cuisine of Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill versus Henderson’s Hardway 8 Executive Chef and culinary master, Teddy Jefferson. Headlining as host for this month’s chef challenge will be TC Martin, Sports Talk Radio Host, of Fox Sports Radio Las Vegas’ TC Martin Show. And it doesn’t just stop there as every great cooking competition comes a top-notch lineup of judges that will sit front and center on the main stage. They will be escorted away from the action while the chefs work their magic and prepare their plates, only to return for a blind tasting to add to all the excitement!

There is no general admission to the Last Friday, JAWS and is free to the public. The community festival begins at 7 p.m., and the live chef challenge kicks off at 8 p.m. Last Friday was founded to resurrect and celebrate the community’s emerging arts footprint. Area sponsors include The City of Henderson and a few community-driven partners such as the Las Vegas Weekly, Findlay Volkswagen of Las Vegas, and Lotus Broadcasting.
