Foundation aims to streamline information, outreach and treatment for individuals with disabilities with celebration of Center and Pathways program at May 19 virtual event

 

For those individuals and families living with disabilities, navigating the assistance, insurance, treatment and life skill options available to them can be daunting at best.  Collaboration Center Foundation aims to streamline the system and treatments by becoming a “one-stop” concierge-style program families can rely on to receive the very best guidance, assistance and outreach in Southern Nevada.

One of the key components of Collaboration Center Foundation, Pathways, will be highlighted on May 19 with a virtual executive lunch for key business leaders and fundraising professionals in Las Vegas.  Pathways, the foundation’s concierge case management program, guides individuals, family members, caregivers and partners on what resources and funding are available in the community and at the future campus.  Designed to be a central point to gain access to the necessary support and care, Collaboration Center Foundation becomes the one and only destination.

Held virtually on May 19 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., The Power of 19 event will honor Las Vegas’ community collective including Joseph W. Brown of Jolley, Urga, Woodbury & Holthus; Sonny Vinuya of the Asian Chamber of Commerce; and John and Jacki Miller, CEO of Lexicon and CFO of Smart City respectively.  These Vegas Angels will be celebrated by business leaders in the community during this luncheon hosted by Mark Shunock, in-arena announcer for the Vegas Golden Knights and creator of Mondays Dark.  Event registration is available online at www.collablv.org and starts at $119 per “ticket.”  Premium registration is available at $150 and includes a delivered box lunch.  In addition to benefiting the Collaboration Center Foundation, a portion of ticket sales will also go directly to feeding unserved families living with disabilities.  Sponsors of The Power of 19 include NV Energy Catapult Fundraising, Lyft and Brownstein, Hyatt, Farber & Schreck.

“Kicking off our endeavors and fundraising efforts during the COVID-19 ‘stay at home’ orders has proved challenging however it is now even more important for our disabled community to have access to services  in the very best and most streamlined way possible,” says Cindy Goussak, Chief Operating Officer, Collaboration Center Foundation.  “As a parent of an autistic child and having to navigate through complicated systems to get him access to important treatment, the Pathways program is key to make a difference in the lives of so many with disabilities and their families by assisting them to find the best options,” says Lynda Tache, VP of Funding, Public Policy and Donor Relations.

According to the World Health Organization, more than one billion people or 15 percent of the world’s population live with some form of disability.  The Collaboration Center Foundation is a community for inclusion, focused upon family and peer engagement, social interaction, recreation, therapy and education.  Founded in 2020, the Collaboration Center Foundation currently assists individuals with physical, mental and developmental disabilities of all ages.  The foundation’s core concept, Pathways, helps disabled individuals and their families access the very best of care and support systems available through a unique, concierge case management approach.  2021 will see the foundation’s campus come to life where disabled individuals and their families can engage with therapy, support, peer groups, family support, recreation and more under one roof.  The center will also have state-of-the-art facilities including a community-sized pool, mini-golf course, exercise room, an adaptive social-inclusive playground, enclosed park, multi-purpose sports course and more.  It will also be home to the foundation’s non-profit events and programs, community for-profit events and more, all in the spirit of being a true community collaborative center celebrating achievement and inclusion.
