Tuesday, April 3, 2018, has been proclaimed as “UNLV Lady Rebels Day,” by the Clark County Board of Commissioners.

Clark County Commissioner Steve Sisolak presented UNLV Lady Rebel head coach Kathy Olivier, along with selected players, with the proclamation on Tuesday at the meeting of the Clark County Commission.

The Lady Rebels were honored for their outstanding season, as UNLV claimed its first-ever Mountain West championship, the first conference title of any kind for the team since 1994, after winning the regular season title with a 14-4 league mark. That was a new school record for total MW victories, topping last season’s 12-6 mark. UNLV also made an appearance in the postseason for the second straight season after earning an automatic bid to the WNIT, giving the team consecutive postseason appearances for the first time since 2004-05 and 2005-06.

A league-best three Lady Rebels earned MW All-Conference honors as well, while senior guard Brooke Johnson, the lone starter the team will lose, was named the Mountain West Defensive Player of the Year.
