A Charity Event Benefiting The Children’s Specialty Center of
Nevada and St. Baldrick’s Foundation
Performance, Art and Fashion Extravaganza on Sunday, October 28
Circus Couture, in partnership with Cure 4 the Kids Foundation, presents an extravagant evening called “86 Peculiar Place,” a performance, fashion and art event inside The Smith Center for the Performing Arts at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, October 28th. Proceeds benefit the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, a volunteer-driven charity dedicated to raising money for childhood cancer research, and The Children’s Specialty Center of Nevada, the only non profit clinic in the state treating children with cancer regardless of ability to pay for services.
Circus Couture was created by performers and employees of shows on the Las Vegas Strip and nourished by the arts community of Las Vegas to aid children with cancer.
Circus Couture’s “86 Peculiar Place” features both a silent and live art auction as well as explosive circus performances intertwined with outlandish runway fashion. “86 Peculiar Place” will take guests to a whimsical world where those deemed too bright, too strange, or too extraordinary for our world coexist in celebration of their oddity. In 2011, The Las Vegas Review Journal praised Circus Couture as “fast becoming one of the hippest and most entertaining charity nights of the year.” With their sister fundraising team Cirque du SoBald, Circus Couture has raised more than a quarter of a million dollars for pediatric cancer care and research since its inception.
“A cancer journey forces a child to go through many changes, both physical and emotional, that can make them wish for nothing greater than to feel normal. “86 Peculiar Place” was created to honor them, a magical place where residents must stand out to fit in,” said Erica Linz, Circus Couture Artistic Director. “Both the extraordinary, world champion talent gracing our stage and the spectacular fine art gallery represent the amazing kids we aim to help. They put the “art” in heart and the caliber of performance they bring to the cause is awe inspiring…”
Circus Couture’s “86 Peculiar Place” will be held in Reynolds Hall at The Smith Center for the Performing Arts. Tickets may be purchased at box office, online at www.thesmithcenter.com, or by calling: 702-749-2000. Tickets start at $15. VIP packages are available by contacting Brett Palmer at [email protected] or by calling 702-217-0429. For additional information on Circus Couture, visit http://www.circus-couture.com.

About Children’s Specialty Center of Nevada
Children’s Specialty Center of Nevada, a program of Cure 4 The Kids Foundation, provides medical treatment to children facing devastating diseases such as cancer, rheumatological diseases, rare and ultra rare diseases and genetic conditions. All our physicians are Board Certified in Pediatric Hematology-Oncology. Because of our partnership with the Children’s Oncology Group, (COG), we provide access to all appropriate clinical trials. In addition, Dr. Jonathan Bernstein is a state Principal Investigator for COG and oversees and administers pediatric clinical trials in the state. In addition, through our partnership with Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, we bring in Board Certified Pediatric Rheumatologists on a monthly basis to see patients with specific conditions such as Lupus, Scleroderma and Pediatric Rheumatoid Arthritis. There are currently no Board Certified providers with these specialties practicing in the entire state of Nevada. Through our partnership with the University of Utah, the Chief of the Division of Medical Genetics has been seeing patients in Nevada since 2009. Nicola Longo, M.D., PhD. provides the expertise not currently available in the state. In addition he oversees Nevada’s Newborn Screening Program.
