A Six-course Feast Raises Critical Funding for the James Beard Foundation (JBF)

 

 On Monday, October 16, 100 lucky diners will enjoy award-winning Chef Sam Marvin’s extraordinary cooking and hospitality with the ultimate six-course feast in his gorgeous, new Echo & Rig location at the District at Green Valley Ranch in Henderson, Nevada.  Incorporating the finest cuts of international meats and fish, seasonal produce, specially sourced cheese and chocolate, Chef Sam will dazzle his guests with a one-of-a-kind, food and drink experience. Each course will be complemented by magnificent wines from Chateau St. Michelle Wine Estates, and world-class whiskies from Uncle Nearest Premium Whiskey (www.unclenearest.com), who honors the world’s first-known African master distiller, Nearest Green.

 

Friends of James Beard Benefits (FOJBBs) are bespoke fundraising events around the country that provide critical funding for James Beard Foundation (JBF) programs, to help JBF achieve its mission to celebrate, support and elevate the people behind America’s food culture, and champion a standard of good food that is anchored in talent, equity and sustainability.

A longtime friend of the James Beard Foundation, Chef Sam Marvin brings a unique blend of culinary classicism and a badass, take no prisoners approach to his singular style of cooking. A California boy with serious classical French training, Chef Sam is a true original who is a critical part of the foundation and evolution of the celebrated dining scenes in Los Angeles, and more recently, Las Vegas and Sacramento. Widely known for his culinary leadership and philanthropy, Chef Sam has always believed in giving back to the hospitality industry. Chef Sam’s wildly successful 2019 James Beard Dinner in New York at the James Beard House was a culinary and fundraising triumph – he looks forward to upping the ante at his upcoming Friends of James Beard Benefit dinner on his home turf in Las Vegas.
