Adding to its monumental list of resident artists, Drai’s Beachclub • Nightclub is embracing today’s best indie electro duo as Capital Cities joins the Drai’s LIVE roster. Another testament to the versatality of the 65,000 square foot rooftop venue atop The Cromwell, Capital Cities are set to perform full-length live concerts 11 stories above Las Vegas Boulevard kicking off on May 8 with additional dates already confirmed for Aug. 8 and Oct. 10.
The LA-based unit, comprised of Ryan Merchant and Sebu Simonian, first came together as a duo of composers/songwriters. They initially worked together as jingle writers until they formed the band in 2010. Independently, the pair released an EP which included the song “Safe and Sound,” an upbeat mesh of melody and programming that went viral and garnered worldwide exposure. Now with a full band and signed deal with Capitol Records / Lazy Hooks, this duo has been playing festivals internationally and is preparing for their upcoming Drai’s LIVE residency.
Over the past year, Drai’s Beachclub • Nightclub has become Las Vegas’ nightlife venue of choice for exclusive live concert performances from artists such as The Weeknd, Iggy Azalea, J. Cole, Chromeo, Chris Brown and many others. At Drai’s LIVE, the live music/concert experience is seamlessly integrated into the day life and nightlife experiences at Drai’s, featuring full-length concerts by arena-level musicians in a more close-up and vibrant atmosphere coupled with high energy DJ sets before and after the show.
