Springs Preserve Wildlife Springs Preserve Butterflies

Butterfly Habitat

Saturday, Oct. 5 through Nov. 25

Wander through this unique Butterfly Habitat and witness the fascinating dance between free-flying butterflies, the plants that sustain them, and their important role as pollinators in the ecosystem. Dates for this seasonal attraction may vary depending on weather. Members receive early entry at 9:30 a.m. Check springspreserve.org for updates. Free for members or included with general admission.

**Día de Muertos Festival – Limited Ticket Availability

Friday, Nov. 1 – Sunday, Nov. 3

Rooted in centuries-old Latin American cultural traditions, the Springs Preserve’s Día de Muertos (Day of the Dead) Festival celebrates and honors the memory of loved ones who have passed. This year’s event features exciting activities for all ages, live performances of dance and music, entertaining games, arts and crafts, food vendors and more. The annual festival often sells out, so purchase tickets well in advance.  General Admission cost is $15 for adults and $9 for children 3-17.  Value Members cost is $11 for adults and $7 for children 3-17. Children 2 and under are free. Purchase tickets at springspreserve.org.

DRI Science at the Springs – The Story of Nevada

Thursday, Nov. 7

6 – 8 p.m.

This Desert Research Institute (DRI) lecture offers a detailed look at Nevada’s archaeological heritage. Delve into Nevada’s history through the lens of archaeology. Discover the significance of Basque arbor glyphs, explore discoveries from the DRI luminescence laboratory, and learn about ancient rock art using 360-degree media.  The Story of Nevada is part of the DRI Science at the Springs—a multimedia, science storytelling series that explores environmental research, personal narratives and climate solutions. Admission: $10. **Salute to Veterans Free Admission Day

Monday, November 11

9 a.m.-4 p.m.

The Springs Preserve will offer free general admission to retired and active-duty military personnel with valid ID on Monday, November 11 in honor of Veterans Day. Thank you for your service! (Regular admission applies for accompanying guests.)

Springs Safari: Spiders

They’re creepy, they’re crawly, and sometimes they’re a little bit spooky. Come to October’s Springs Safari to learn all about native Mojave spiders and their habitats. Then, go on a hunt for real-life webs and maybe even catch a glimpse of our eight-eyed friends. Free for members or included with general admission.

Conservation for Kids: Pollinators

Birds, bees, bats, butterflies, what do they all have in common? They’re all pollinators. Take a deep dive into the different types of pollinators and study some that you can spot in your own backyard. Free for members or included with general admission.

What’s the difference between climate and weather? How does climate affect the world around us? Learn all that and more while earning a Climatology Badge in the Nature Exchange. Free for members or included with general admission.

WaterWorks Museum

WaterWorks Museum is an interactive, behind-the-scenes look at the inner-workings of water treatment and delivery in Southern Nevada. Learn about the challenges and triumphs of the journey of water. The exhibit, located in the Charleston Heights Pumping Station, is presented by the Las Vegas Valley Water District, Southern Nevada Water Authority and Springs Preserve, in partnership with ONE DROP™, with contributions from the RBC Blue Water Project and Springs Preserve Foundation. Free for members or included with general admission.

Boomtown 1905

Thursday-Monday

Step back in time at Boomtown 1905, a recreated early Las Vegas streetscape. Explore historical re-creations of the original train depot, Arizona Club, Majestic Theatre, First State Bank, Lincoln Hotel, and Las Vegas Mercantile. Encounter interpretive, interactive exhibits and period décor to learn about early-1900s Las Vegas. Free for members or included with general admission.

Springs Café

The Springs Café offers exceptional sammiches, salads, brunch, burgers and libations. Made from fresh, healthy ingredients, menu items include vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options.

ADMISSION

General admission for Nevada residents with ID is $9.95 for adults, $4.95 for children ages 3 to 17, and free for children 2 and under. General admission for non-Nevada residents is $18.95 for adults, $10.95 for children ages 3 to 17, and free for children 2 and under.

 

General admission includes access to the Nevada State Museum. Special event and class admission prices vary and can be found at springspreserve.org.

The Springs Preserve is open Thursday-Monday, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

Nevada State Museum is open Thursday-Monday, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

Springs Café is open Thursday-Monday, 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

Closed Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. Hours vary for classes and special events.

Springs Preserve Membership

Springs Preserve memberships are the perfect way to share the Springs Preserve with family and friends and are available online or at the Springs Preserve Ticketing Office. All memberships include year-round Springs Preserve and Nevada State Museum access, discounts for activities, select events, Springs Cafe and The Springs Preserve Gift Shop. Individual membership is $30, and a Value Family membership is $60 which includes two adults and up to six kids under 18. Donor memberships are also available.
