HOURS

 

The Springs Preserve is open Thursday-Monday, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Hours may vary for classes and special events. The Springs Preserve is closed Thanksgiving and Christmas Day. The Nevada State Museum is open Thursday-Monday, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. The Springs Café is open Thursday-Monday, 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

 

ADMISSION

General admission for Nevada residents with ID is $9.95 for adults, $4.95 for children ages 3 to 17, and free for children 2 and under.

 

General admission for non-Nevada residents is $18.95 for adults, $10.95 for children ages 3 to 17, and free for children 2 and under.

 

General admission includes access to the Nevada State Museum. Special event and class admission prices vary and can be found at springspreserve.org.

 

SPECIAL EVENTS

 

Spring Break Safari at the Springs Preserve

March 11-17

9 a.m.-4 p.m.

No school? No problem! The Springs Preserve will be open for regular operating hours daily during the Clark County School District’s Spring Break, including Tuesday, March 12 and Wednesday, March 13! (Springs Preserve members get early admission at 8 a.m.) Spring Break Safari will feature daily programming included with your general admission all week, including:

 

  • Bird Beak Adaptations (Daily at 11 a.m.): Learn how bird beaks have adapted to suit their unique diets and environment. After a short bird walk in the Springs Preserve gardens, participants will practice their own bird beak skills with an experimental activity!
  • Toddler Time: Spring Flowers (Monday, Thursday, and Friday at 11 a.m.): Celebrate the Spring season with a cheery story time for little kids and a blooming take-home craft!
  • Behind-the-Scenes Zoology Clinic Tour (Daily at 12 p.m.): From the vinegaroons to Gila monsters, learn more about Mojave Desert animals and how Springs Preserve zoologists take care of our animal collection.
  • Conservation for Kids: Deserts (Daily at 1 p.m.): Do we live in a barren, dusty wasteland? No way! The Mojave Desert is a complex and rich ecosystem with its own unique animals, soil, waterways, and plants. Learn more about how we can take steps to conserve our home environment.
  • Drop-in Demonstrations (Daily at various times throughout the day): Learn more about the world around us with free and fun activities throughout the property. Meet with our experts as they share information on a variety of subjects ranging from Archaeology, Gardens, Zoology and more!
  • Audio-guided Full-loop Train Ride Tours (Daily on the hour from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.)

 

Springs Preserve Badge Class

Every Saturday and Sunday at 2 p.m. and Monday-Friday of Spring Break

Are you a future marine biologist? Learn all about oceans and some of the creatures that live there while earning your March Nature Exchange Badge! Guests will review the March Nature Exchange Badge booklet all about Oceanography, conduct an in-class experiment, and get to take home their own Oceanography badge! Free with general admission.

 

Spring Plant Sale

Saturday, March 23

9 a.m.-3 p.m.

Our spring plant sale will feature various desert-adapted plant species in sizes ranging from 2 inches to 5 gallons. Springs Preserve garden experts will be on hand to answer your gardening questions. For easy transport, be sure to bring a wagon or cart for your purchases. Springs Preserve members receive early admission at 8 a.m. Admission to the plant sale is free.

 

Nuwu Pasats Speaker Series

Saturday, March 23

4-6 p.m.

Darren Daboda: Indigenous Plants vs. Noxious Weeds. The Nuwu Pasats (Southern Paiute Garden) Speaker Series provides a space for Indigenous Knowledge Givers to share their cultural lifeways and experience with the greater community. Emphasizing sustainable relationships with water, plants, and the landscape, the speaker series creates an opportunity for collaborative, community-based learning. The speaker’s event is free. Registration is required.

 

Butterfly Habitat

April 6-May 27

10 a.m.-3 p.m. (last entry at 2:45 pm)

Wander through our unique Butterfly Habitat and witness the fascinating dance between free-flying butterflies, the plants that sustain them, and their important role as pollinators in the ecosystem. Dates for this seasonal attraction may vary depending on weather. Check the Springs Preserve website for updates. Free with general admission or Springs Preserve membership.

 

Earth Day Celebration

Saturday, April 20

10 a.m.-4 p.m.

Celebrate Earth Day at the Springs Preserve, where Every Day is Earth Day! Bring the whole family for fun and educational explorations of our campus—a living example of sustainable lifestyles, design and architecture. Our celebration will feature conservation-focused exhibits and attractions, environmental and green industry exhibitors, eco-friendly craft activities, and opportunities to learn how you can help ensure a sustainable future through resource conservation, pollution prevention, waste reduction and natural resource protection.

Toddler Time Kids’ Activity

Mondays , Thursdays and Fridays

11 a.m.-12 p.m.

Bring your little ones to the Springs Preserve for kid-friendly fun with a new theme every week! Recommended for ages 5 and under. Free for members or with general admission.

 

Ride the Train

9 a.m.-3 p.m.

Jump aboard the Boomtown Express, a guided, narrated ride on our life-size locomotive. The train stops at Boomtown 1905, a recreated streetscape of early-1900s downtown Las Vegas. Free with admission or membership to the Springs Preserve. The train schedule is subject to change based on weather, road conditions and special event availability.  Call 702-822-7700 or visit the Springs Preserve ticket office for the current schedule.

 

Conservation for Kids

Saturdays & Sundays, 11 am & 1 pm

Drop into the Sustainability Gallery Classroom for fun and interactive activities for kids that explore the importance of conservation. Free for members or with general admission.

 

 

WaterWorks Museum

WaterWorks is an interactive, behind-the-scenes look at the inner-workings of water-resource treatment and delivery in Southern Nevada. Learn about the challenges and triumphs of the journey of water. The exhibit, located in the Charleston Heights Pumping Station, is presented by the Las Vegas Valley Water District, Southern Nevada Water Authority and Springs Preserve, in partnership with ONE DROP™, with contributions from the RBC Blue Water Project and Springs Preserve Foundation. Free for members or included with general admission.

 

Boomtown 1905 Experience

Step back in time with a visit to Boomtown 1905, a recreated early Las Vegas streetscape. Explore historical re-creations of the original train depot, Arizona Club, Majestic Theatre, First State Bank, Lincoln Hotel, and mercantile. Encounter interpretive, interactive exhibits and period décor to learn about early-1900s Las Vegas. Free for members or included with general admission.

 

SPRINGS CAFE

9 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

The Springs Café offers exceptional sammiches, salads, brunch, burgers and libations at the Springs Preserve. Made from fresh, healthy ingredients, menu items include vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options.

Springs Preserve Membership

Springs Preserve memberships are the perfect way to share the Springs Preserve with family and friends and are available online or at the Springs Preserve Ticketing Office. All memberships include year-round Springs Preserve and Nevada State Museum access, discounts for activities, select events, Springs Cafe and The Springs Preserve Gift Shop. Individual membership is $30, and a Value Family membership is $60 which includes two adults and up to six kids under 18. Donor memberships are also available.
