Celebrating 41 Years, UNLVino Kicks Off with its Unique Champagne and
Sparkling Wine Tasting – Bubble-Licious – including a 21 Cork Salute,
Elevated Entertainment from Chadwick Johnson and Much More

 

 

 Popping off hundreds of bottles of champagne and sparkling wine, UNLVino 2015 will commence at Bubble-Licious on Thursday, April 16, under the stars at The Venetian® Las Vegas. The evening will honor James Beard Award-winning Chef Daniel Boulud of db Brasserie, feature cuisine from the highly acclaimed restaurants at The Venetian and Palazzo®, and entertain guests with the smooth, lively sounds of premier vocalist, Chadwick Johnson.

Bubble-Licious will recognize internationally renowned Chef Daniel Boulud with the Dom Pérignon Award of Excellence. This prestigious accolade – a UNLVino tradition – is given to those who have distinguished themselves and set an example through their inspirational leadership, character and work ethic in the hospitality industry.

“The Dom Pérignon Award of Excellence is truly special to me, as I am grateful to play a role in Las Vegas’ culinary community,” said Boulud. “The students of UNLV’s Hotel College are inspiring, and their hard work and dedication to the hospitality industry is a promising sign for the future of the city and beyond.”

Chef Boulud’s most dedicated fans can engage with the culinary icon with the special Bubble-Licious Experience Package. This once-in-a-lifetime opportunity includes a multi-course dinner for two at Chef Boulud’s db Brasserie at The Venetian, a meet-and-greet with the chef, a night’s stay in one of The Venetian’s world-class suites, and a personally autographed cookbook to commemorate the unforgettable night. Nevada’s largest and oldest wine festival’s inaugural event will kick off the weekend with its signature 21 Cork Salute, as sommeliers from Southern Wine & Spirits of Nevada, The Venetian and Palazzo, as well as UNLV and the Las Vegas community uncork bottles of Dom Pérignon to pour for guests upon arrival.

Throughout the evening, guests will feast on a variety of dishes from The Venetian and Palazzo’s array of specialty dining venues, including the newest Las Vegas restaurant helmed by the man of the hour, Chef Daniel Boulud, db Brasserie. Other participating eateries include:

Additionally, students from UNLV’s Hotel College will showcase their rising culinary skills with both classic and signature bites, providing guests a taste of the main event – the Grand Tasting – Saturday, April 18.

True to its namesake, Bubble-Licious will indulge guests with an extensive selection of champagne, sparkling wines, wines and spirits for a unique, luxurious tasting experience. The event will include world-renowned beverage brands such as Accolade Wines; Beau Joie Champagne; Champagne Henriot; Danone Waters; FIJI Water; Folio Fine Wine Partners: Villa Sandi; Francis Ford Coppola Winery; Freixenet USA; Mita Beverage Co., Ltd.; Moët Hennessey USA; MYX Fusions; Palm Bay International; Pernod Ricard USA; Prestige Wine Imports; Rémy Cointreau; Sandi; Sovereign Brands, LLC; Stella Rosa; Terlato Wines International; Vin Divino; Wilson Creek Winery & Vineyards; and Wolfgang Puck.

Bubble-Licious will be brought to life with the soulful entertainment of award-winning singer and songwriter, Chadwick Johnson. Johnson was recently named “Vegas’ Next Emerging Star” by the Entertainment Consumers Exchange, as he’s entertained countless audiences at world-class venues including The Smith Center for Performing Arts, Hakkasan Nightclub at MGM Grand, ARIA Resort & Casino, and more. His unique twists on jazz classics and today’s top hits will provide the perfect soundtrack for guests to dance the night away.

Rounding out the entertainment with a visual spectacle that’s rarely found outside of Venice, Italy, The Venetian’s Streetmosphere performers – which includes festive actors, acrobats, dancers and Living Statues – will dazzle attendees and add an air of jubilation to the wine tasting event.

Bubble-Licious will take place on Thursday, April 16 between 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. at The Venetian Las Vegas’ Doge’s Palace Plaza, located in front of the hotel, adjacent to its porte-cochére. Tickets for the event are available for $125 in advance and $150 at the door.

In addition to Bubble-Licious, UNLVino 2015 will delight guests at its other two other signature events throughout the weekend, including Sake Fever on Friday, April 17 at Red Rock Casino Resort & Spa and the Grand Tasting on Saturday, April 18 at Paris Las Vegas.
