BROOKLYN BOWL CELEBRATES 5TH ANNIVERSARY WITH SPECIAL QUESTLOVE
SIMULCAST IN LAS VEGAS
Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas to take part in Brooklyn Bowl New York’s milestone
celebration with live simulcast on THURSDAY, JULY 10, 2014 at 8:00 PM PST
Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas will celebrate the 5th anniversary of the flagship Brooklyn Bowl, located in the Williamsburg neighborhood of Williamsburg Brooklyn, with a real-time simulcast of a special set from American music legend Questlove.
Recently declaring, “I love Brooklyn Bowl so much I’d put a ring on it,” Questlove – whose vinyl collection contains more than 50,000 records – will tear up the dance floor with an eclectic set of hip-hop, house, 80’s, rare grooves and a mix of everything in between.
Questlove will perform Bowl Train in his usual Thursday night slot, accompanied by throwback Soul Train videos. This occasion will mark the first time an event has been simulcast from Brooklyn Bowl New York to Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas.
“There is no better way for Brooklyn Bowl to celebrate its 5th anniversary than with Bowl Train,” says owner Peter Shapiro. “The eclectic music Questlove plays, the unique vibe he creates, the use of the Soul Train visuals on the big screen — it’s an experience you can’t find anywhere else that captures the spirit of Brooklyn Bowl perfectly.”
The special 5th Anniversary Bowl Train will take place on Thursday, July 10th — almost five years to the day after Brooklyn Bowl opened its doors on July 9, 2009.
This event will be simulcast through a partnership with http://nugs.net/.
ABOUT BROOKLYN BOWL:
Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas is the brand’s third location. The original location opened in the Williamsburg neighborhood of Brooklyn in 2009 in the former Hecla Iron Works building (built in 1882) and was the first L.E.E.D. certified bowling alley in the world. The second Brooklyn Bowl location opened in January 2014 at the O2 in London, and was hailed by the London Evening standard as a “…wonderland of food, drink, music and pins”.
Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas has hosted a diverse range of acts; including Elvis Costello and The Roots, Jane’s Addiction, Spoon, Gogol Bordello, Primus and Cake. Brooklyn Bowl New York has been named Zagat’s “Best Music Venue – New York City” for three consecutive years (as well as “Best Bowling Alley” and “Best Brooklyn Venue”) and one of the best clubs in America by Rolling Stone. Eater described their menu as “epic,” while the New Yorker hailed the club’s unprecedented combination of top-flight music, beer, bowling, and food as “like nailing a spare on a four-ten split.”
