Broken Yolk Cafe Hosts Supply Drive Benefiting
The Shade Tree from Dec. 16 through Jan. 31
Will donate 20 percent of sales to the nonprofit providing life-changing services that promotes stability, dignity and self-reliance

This winter, Broken Yolk Cafe is giving back to the community by hosting a supply drive to support The Shade Tree, a 35-year Las Vegas nonprofit dedicated to providing safe shelter and resources to women, their children and pets who are escaping domestic violence, human trafficking and homelessness. From Dec. 16 through Jan. 31, Broken Yolk Cafe will collect donations at its four locations across the valley: Southwest (9423 S. Rainbow Blvd, Suite A150); Henderson (3458 St. Rose Parkway, Suite 10); Downtown (201 S. Las Vegas Blvd); and Town Square (6805 S. Las Vegas Blvd #125).
Guests are encouraged to donate items from The Shade Tree’s wish list, with a special focus on kitchen-related essentials including the following:
- Non-perishable foods: Canned vegetables, fruits and beans; canned soups and stews; pasta and rice; peanut butter and other nut butters; shelf-stable milk and non-dairy alternatives; canned meat and fish (tuna, chicken and salmon); boxed meals (macaroni and cheese, rice dishes, etc.); oatmeal and dry cereals; and dried fruits and nuts
- Nutritious snacks: granola bars and energy bars; trail mix; popcorn; applesauce and fruit cups; and crackers
- Baby food and formula: unopened infant formula; baby cereal; and jars or pouches of baby food
- Condiments and cooking essentials: cooking oil; baking supplies (flour, sugar, baking powder, etc.); coffee and tea; water bottles; holiday treats (cookies, candies, etc.); and dairy products (milk, cheese, yogurt, etc.)
These items will directly support The Shade Tree’s mission to empower women and children in need.

In addition to collecting donations, Broken Yolk Cafe will generously contribute 20% of sales to The Shade Tree from customers who mention The Shade Tree or show the supply drive flyer during their visit. This initiative offers guests a meaningful way to support the shelter while enjoying breakfast and brunch favorites that have earned Broken Yolk Cafe the recognition of “Best Breakfast” by Las Vegas Weekly. Popular dishes include:
- Crunchy French Toast, made with three extra thick slices of bread rolled in crunch frosted flakes, sprinkled with sliced almonds, raspberries, powdered sugar and topped with whipped cream and a raspberry drizzle
- Golden State Benedict, made with a toasted English muffin topped with grilled tomato, avocado, applewood-smoked bacon, poached eggs, hollandaise sauce and a sriracha drizzle
- Fiesta Burrito, made with scrambled eggs, onions, bell peppers, tomatoes, seasoned shredded beef and cheddar cheese wrapped in a flour tortilla and smothered in their house made salsa verde and topped with sour cream, avocado and fresh salsa

The Shade Tree, a 35-year Southern Nevada nonprofit, is a 24-hour accessible emergency shelter for domestic violence and human trafficking survivors and their children. The Shade Tree partners with Noah’s Animal House, located on the organization’s campus, to provide pet services for its clients.
