BRAD GARRETT’S MAXIMUM HOPE FOUNDATION
CHARITY POKER TOURNAMENT RETURNS TO MGM GRAND SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 19
MGM Grand Hotel & Casinowill host comedian and Emmy Award-winning actor Brad Garrett’s annual Maximum Hope Foundation Charity Poker Tournament Saturday, Sept. 19 on the casino floor between Wolfgang Puck and the KÀ Theatre. The tournament, which will begin at noon, will offer participants the opportunity to play alongside Garrett, other celebrities as well as professional poker players. All proceeds from the event will go to the Maximum Hope Foundation.
“This is my sixth year hosting the poker tournament to benefit Maximum Hope, a small grassroots foundation I started 15 years ago,” stated Garrett. “Eighty-five cents from every dollar we raise goes to helping families who are facing their darkest days as they care for a child with a life-limiting illness. Even the smallest donation can help one of our many families with the daily necessities that so many of us take for granted.”
The poker tournament is a No-Limit Hold’em event requiring an entry fee of $250. Participants will have the opportunity to re-buy within the first two hours of play for an additional $100. There also will be a final add-on available at the conclusion of the two-hour re-buy time period. The winner will take home a guaranteed $10,000 first-place prize. All participants must be 21 years of age or older.
Founded by Garrett in 2000, the Maximum Hope Foundation is a non-profit organization offering practical aid to families with a child under the age of 18, diagnosed with a life-limiting illness. The Foundation works quickly to supply struggling families with practical necessities such as rent, utility payments, groceries, gas and gift cards for everyday items.
