 BELLAGIO ANNOUNCES 2015 LINEUP FOR AN EXECUTIVE CHEF’S CULINARY CLASSROOM

Bellagio Executive Chef Edmund Wong Leads Guests Through Themed Interactive Cooking Classes


Bellagio Executive Chef Edmund Wong will welcome culinary novices and experts alike to slice, dice and season their way through 2015 at An Executive Chef’s Culinary Classroom, the resort’s popular series of cooking classes. During each interactive two-hour session, Wong and his culinary team will share ideas and techniques as they guide guests through the steps to creating an expertly prepared three-course meal. Tuscany Kitchen, the AAA Five Diamond resort’s state-of-the-art demonstration kitchen, provides the ideal location for guests as they prep and cook alongside some of the best chefs in the business.


The 2015 series begin Thursday, Feb. 12 at 7 p.m. and will be held throughout the year. Tickets are priced at $135 per person all-inclusive and can be purchased by calling Bellagio Concierge at 866-406-7117. When guests step into Tuscany Kitchen, they will find their designated stations prepped with all the ingredients and tools necessary to create the evening’s dishes just like a master chef. The class will begin with Wong welcoming the group of culinary enthusiasts and beginning a detailed step-by-step description of the evening’s meal. Throughout the class, Bellagio chefs will circulate and provide specialized assistance and guidance for guests. Following the cooking session, guests will be seated and will have the opportunity to taste their creations. At the conclusion of the meal, a menu card will be provided to each guest so they can impress friends and family by recreating the memorable meal at home.
Each themed class will feature a carefully crafted menu designed to inspire home entertaining. The 2015 schedule is as follows:


Italian by the Lake: Thursday, February 12
From antipasti to pasta, guests will learn the secret to creating contemporary Italian cuisine. Inspired by Bellagio’s new Italian restaurant, Lago by Julian Serrano, scheduled to open in March, this course will have guests crafting masterpieces just like the property’s award-winning chefs. Dim Sum and Noodles: Thursday, March 19
The New Year brings the opportunity to unlock the mystery to creating signature Chinese plates. This course will teach guests the secret techniques to various noodle dishes and more.


Tequila and Tacos: Thursday, April 30
Nothing says fiesta like tequila and tacos.  The experts are ready to teach the party savvy how to make an array of festive margaritas and classic Mexican dishes just in time for Cinco de Mayo celebrations.

 

Healthy Gourmet: Tuesday, May 26
Healthy eating will be synonymous with delicious upon taking this course. Guests will be amazed with the amount of flavor they can cook into various healthy dishes while leaving guilt at the door.


Backyard Patio Grilling: Tuesday, June 30
In true Bellagio fashion, Executive Chef Edmund Wong will demonstrate how to take a backyard cookout to the next level by using the finest meats, produce and barbeque techniques to create unforgettable summer celebrations.

Learning to Roll… Sushi and Rolls: Thursday, July 23
Guests will be serving up sushi and sashimi in style after this fun course. During this session, chefs will teach the art of selecting, combining and rolling the freshest ingredients to prepare everyone’s favorite Japanese cuisine.


Back to School: Thursday, August 27
Parents will discover how to make quick meals kids love while keeping it healthy at the same time. These simple, yet delicious recipes will take the chaos out of mid-week meal planning.


Cupcakes & Cocktails: Tuesday, September 29
Bellagio’s team of award-winning pastry chefs invites guests to grab a friend for a fun night of fancy cocktails and delicious cupcakes. Here, students will learn how to create the perfect girl’s night in.

 

Octoberfest: Tuesday, October 13
German beer lovers will rejoice as they learn to prepare dishes that best complement their favorite refreshment. After this session, their friends and family will be saying das ist gut every time they cook up an October specialty.


Harvesting Thanksgiving 2.0: Tuesday, November 10
Bellagio’s culinary professionals will take the fear out of Thanksgiving dinner by demonstrating simple techniques for creating the perfect holiday feast in this holiday-themed class.
