SAHARA Las Vegas announces an exclusive dining experience at Bazaar Meat by José Andrés featuring the exceptional Shibui Japanese Whisky, the most awarded Japanese whisky in the United States. Slated for Saturday, July 6, at 7:30 p.m., this distinctive event honors Japan’s Umi no Hi holiday, also known as Marine Day. The unique celebration will spotlight the bountiful treasures of the sea, offering guests an unparalleled culinary journey harmoniously blending new and classic Bazaar Meat dishes with the bold and rich flavors of Shibui Whisky.
The event will take place in the intimate Bazaar Silver Room, accommodating only 24 guests, ensuring an exclusive and immersive experience. Attendees will be treated to a specially curated menu, designed to complement the distinguished whiskies from Shibui.

Shibui Eight-Year-Old Sherry Cask, Cachaça, ginger
- Uni and Hotate Cones – Sea urchin, scallops, ginger
- Abalone and Shiitake – Braised shiitake mushroom, raw abalone, pickled seaweed, green apple
- Neptune’s Pillow – Tuna akami, rocoto, wasabi
Shibui Flight of 10-Year
Pure Malt, Bourbon Cask, Nokoribi Kara
- Nori Tartalette – A5 tartare, Ossetra caviar, scallions
- Tuna Carpaccio – Truffle soy dressing, Sweety Drop peppers
- Jose’s Taco – Jamón Ibérico de Bellota, Ossetra caviar, gold
- Carabineros – Chili crab sauce, black garlic
- Bushugyu and Ossetra Caviar – A5 striploin, Nokoribi Kara ponzu, egg yolk
- Okinawa Sweet Potato – Miso, Fresno, lemon
- Rosewood Ribeye – Sourced from Rosewood Ranch, Texas
- Rossejat – Lobster, firefly squid, Hamachi
- Setas al Ajillo – Button mushroom, Shiso Mojo Verde

Throughout the evening, representatives from Shibui will guide guests through the tasting journey, providing insights into the unique characteristics and production processes of each whisky. This interactive element allows guests to deepen their appreciation and understanding of Shibui’s offerings.
The tasting will feature the following whiskies:
- Shibui Eight-Year-Old Sherry Cask: Exceptionally rare with less than 6,000 bottles ever made. It will never be released again. This whisky will be included in the La Sorpresa Cocktail.
- Shibui 10-Year-Old Bourbon Cask: Awarded 94 points at the Ultimate Spirits Challenge and a finalist for the Chairman’s Trophy. This whisky will be included in the flight.
- Shibui 10-Year-Old Pure Malt: Named the “Best Asian Whisky in the World” at the International Wine & Spirit Competition as well as the only malt whisky from Japan named in the “Top 100 Best Spirits in the World” at the Ultimate Spirits Challenge. This whisky will be included in the flight.
- Shibui Nokoribi Kara: Awarded 94 points at the International Wine & Spirt Competition. This whisky will be included in the flight.
- Shibui 10-Year-Old White Oak: Awarded 95 points at the International Wine & Spirit Competition, 95 points at the Ultimate Spirits Challenge, a finalist for the Chairman’s Trophy for two back-to-back years and one of Forbes’ “Top 20 best whiskies in the world.” This whisky will be part of the Oyasuminasai.
- Shibui 23-Year-Old Rare Cask Reserve: One of the most prized whiskies released to date. Less than 25% of barrels reach the age of 23 years or above in Okinawa, making this whisky truly special. (Available for an additional $100)
