Barrett-Jackson Returns to Scottsdale With Flagship Live Auction in January 2021

After a successful and safe return to live auctions in October, Barrett-Jackson, The World’s Greatest Collector Car Auctions, announced today its flagship Scottsdale event will be held at WestWorld of Scottsdale from January 16-23, 2021. The event – with live auction action beginning on Wednesday, January 20, with automobilia – marks the beginning of the company’s Golden Anniversary year and will be highlighted by a docket filled with many of the world’s most desirable collectibles. The eight-day event will also incorporate the exclusive Barrett-Jackson Cup Competition, featuring 50 vehicles from some of the nation’s top custom car and truck builders.

Barrett-Jackson went to great lengths to safeguard the health and safety of guests during the Fall Auction in October. The company plans to build on that success with this signature January event by continuing to implement the safety precautions recommended by local and state health authorities. The event was designed with several preview days at the beginning of the week, allowing collector car enthusiasts ample time to enjoy viewing the vehicles safely and in a comfortable, physically distanced environment.

“Over the last few months the collector car community has shown an unwavering resilience, even under the most adverse conditions,” said Craig Jackson, chairman and CEO of Barrett-Jackson. “We were widely praised for the safety protocols we put in place for our recent Fall Auction, and guests can expect the same level of attention to detail when it comes to safety during our eight-day 2021 Scottsdale Auction. It will be an unforgettable event with a docket that includes our signature diverse offering of incredible collectible vehicles, and also will shine a spotlight on the craftsmanship and artistry of the custom car community during our Barrett-Jackson Cup Competition.”

Among the hotly anticipated collectible cars consigned for the January Scottsdale Auction are two late-model Ford GTs, including a 2018 ’67 Heritage Edition (preview) with less than 20 miles and a 2017 (preview) with less than 80 miles that includes a purpose-built trailer. Custom Dodge Power Wagons from 1949 (preview) and 1952 (preview) will build on the demand for custom trucks and SUVs, while a number of award-winning custom builds, such as a 1976 Ford B-100 wagon called “El Chapo” (preview), will satisfy the hunger for professionally built Resto-Mods.

“No other company in the world puts on a collector car auction like Barrett-Jackson,” said Steve Davis, president of Barrett-Jackson. “We are so enthusiastic about our 2021 Scottsdale Auction, which is shaping up to have a collector car docket full of some truly incredible vehicles. We’re also expanding our outdoor exhibitors and activities, including Restoration Row and the always popular Thrill Rides, to create the complete Barrett-Jackson experience.”

The Barrett-Jackson Cup Competition will include 50 custom-built vehicles hand-selected by the Barrett-Jackson team. All 50 entries will be showcased on the auction stage in a special presentation during the event, when the top five finalists will be announced. Guests will have the chance to see each entry on display during the auction and vote online for their top pick. The Ultimate Best in Show will be announced at the close of the auction on Saturday, January 23.
