Awards, Laughs and Love this February at L.A. Comedy Club in The STRAT With a New Lineup and Special Events
Find resident comics Julio Rodriguez, Bret Ernst, and Butch Bradley alongside national touring comics taking the stage in the Dragon Room at the STRAT. This month L.A. Comedy Club will also host The World Series of Comedy LIVE and The Comedy Reviewers Awards.
L.A. Comedy Club at The STRAT Hotel, Casino & Tower with have you laughing and having a grand time with a new February comedy lineup and special events being held in the Dragon Room this month. Byron Kennedy, Kevin Shae, Brandt Tobler, Kabir Singh, Jeremy Curry, Jay Reid and Steve Gillespie will be taking the stage with shows starting at 8 p.m. These comedians have been featured in multitude of TV shows and festivals including Tosh.O, Conan, Jimmy Kimmel Live, Amazon Prime, Comedy Central, America’s Got Talent, and much more. This month, the club will also be hosting two special events. The World Series of Comedy LIVE from Monday, Feb. 19 through Saturday, Feb. 24 and The Comedy Reviewers Awards on Sunday, Feb. 25.
The month, the club’s lineup of popular resident comics will also include the Happy Hour Variety Show starring Julio Gonzalez at 6 p.m.; comedian Butch Bradley at 10 p.m. Thursday through Monday; and comedian Bret Ernst at 10 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The L.A. Comedy Club, dubbed “The younger rebel brother of Improv” by Casino Player Magazine, has been entertaining Las Vegas locals and visitors since 2007. The World Series of Comedy is a stand-up comedy event for comedians of all levels. The Main Event, held at the L.A. Comedy Club, includes 101 qualifying comedians competing for a chance of victory. Participating clubs will be awarded to the first, second, and third place finalists with first place being awarded a CD recording deal with Uproar Entertainment.
- Sunday, Feb. 25 from noon to 2 p.m.: Comedy Reviewers Awards Las Vegas 1.0
Comedy Reviewers Awards Las Vegas 1.0 is a special event to congratulate this year’s most influential individuals in the Las Vegas comedy community. These individuals help shape the foundation and spread love for comedy. The event will include hilarious stand-up from some of the best comedians in Las Vegas along with special awards handed out to this year’s recipients. All ticket proceeds made by Comedy Reviewers will be donated to Maximumhopefoundation.org to help families with critically ill children. Julio Gonzalez, a rising star in the comedy scene, is known nationwide for his storytelling comedic style using experiences from his life such as weight loss, relationships, society, women and living life to the fullest. Gonzalez also uses his platform and talents as a comedian to help others through his various charity shows and is committed to being the change he wants to see in the world.

Comedic veteran, Butch Bradley, grew up in Atlantic City, New Jersey and started his comedy career by becoming a founding member of the Boston Improv Troupe. Bradley has been the opening act for comedic legends like Ray Romano, Lewis Black and Cathy Ladman and has appeared on HBO, Comedy Central, has been a regular on “The Late Late Show” and toured festivals such as the “Aspen Rooftop Comedy Festival,” the “Montreal Just for Laughs Comedy Festival” and made an appearance as a USO Entertainer. Bradley has received the gold award for “Best Comedian” for three consecutive years by the Las Vegas Review-Journal’s “Best of Las Vegas” awards. Bradley’s comedy special, “Butch Bradley: From Las Vegas” is currently available on Amazon Prime. He can also be seen on the big screen in the upcoming film “Reagan” starring Dennis Quaid.

Bret Ernst, born and raised in New Jersey, was one of four comedians featured in “Wild West Comedy Show: 30 Days and 30 Nights—Hollywood to the Heartland,” has appeared on television shows like “Comedy Central Presents,” “The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson,” “Weeds” and has a recurring role on Netflix’s hit series, “Cobra Kai.” Ernst’s jokes are rooted in storytelling, giving the audience an inside look at the life of a typical North Jersey Italian kid in the 1980s.

- Thursday, Feb. 1 through Sunday, Feb. 4: Byron Kennedy
Byron Kennedy, a former radio and music executive with a track record for success, made the leap to the comedy stage after his trajectory took him from open mic nights to being featured in Las Vegas and beyond. While still working as a record label executive, Kennedy dove into his comedy side hustle and took any slot he could at clubs in Nashville and Los Angeles. His irreverent, observational style and natural charisma helped him seal a record deal with BBR Music Group as the company’s only comic. His comedic style has led to headlining gigs across the country, including The Grand Ole Opry. He also hosts the podcast Hot Chicken & Cage-Free Conversation,” where special guests range from artists and music industry professionals to athletes. In 2022, he took his Down Home Tour on the road with country artist Jimmie Allen. His first two singles, “Hope the Stupid Goes Away” and “Gummy Bear,” both featured the Sideways Sallys and debuted in 2022.

Born in South Korea, Kevin Shea grew up in Eastern Pennsylvania before moving to San Francisco to begin a career in stand-up comedy where he quickly rose to popularity after being a part of the Montreal Comedy Festival. Since then, he has appeared on numerous television shows including “Tosh.O,” ABC’s “Dr. Ken,” HBO’s “Down and Dirty with Jim Norton,” Comedy Central’s “Premium Blend” and “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” among others. He also was the winner of NBC’s “Stand Up for Diversity Showcase” in 2010.
Brandt Tobler, a native of Cheyenne, Wyoming, is a stand-up comedian, author and actor. Tobler is a regular on numerous comedy podcasts, including “Bertcast,” “Crabfeast,” “Your Mom’s House,” “Mohr Sports,” “The Dana Gould Hour,” Ari Shaffir’s “Skeptic Tank” and is currently the host of the award-winning podcast “The 31.” He has also been featured on Comedy Central, Fox and ESPN as well as toured overseas to perform for American troops. His two comedy albums “Token White Boy” and “Ramblin’ and Gamblin’” reached No. 1 on the iTunes and Amazon charts the week they were released. Tobler was a finalist in Barstool Sports’ “Barstool Idol” contest and was named the “Best-Undiscovered Comedian from Wyoming” by Thrillist in 2018.

In 2021, Kabir Singh receiving a standing ovation and four “yes” on NBC’s “America’s Got Talent.” Singh originally debuted his stand up more than a decade ago and appeared on the Comedy Central hit show “Gabriel Iglesias’s Stand-Up Revolution” and has won multiple comedy competitions, including the 2014 “SF International Comedy Competition”. At that competition he was the first person in the 39-year history of the show to come in first place in all five of the final rounds. Singh has also shared the stage with comedy stars like Dave Chappelle, Jo Koy, Russell Peters and regularly tours with Anjelah Johnson and Aries Spears.
Jeremy Curry brings the heat to wherever he goes. Coming from the Bay Area of California, he is known for always pushing great humor and comedy when taking the stage. Jeremy can be found touring throughout the state of California and on the road with Kevin Singh.
- Monday, Feb. 19 through Sunday, Feb. 25: Jay Ried
Jay Reid is a stand-up comedian, who grew up in Las Vegas and started performing at small clubs when he was 19 years old. Reid’s first big break came when he was chosen to be a contestant on BET’s “Coming to the Stage” comedy competition. After appearing on the show, Reid started booking performances at notable comedy clubs throughout Las Vegas and California, such as the Laugh Factory in Hollywood. After being a contestant and winning comedian Bill Bellamy’s “Who’s Got Jokes?,” he landed his own comedy special “L.M.A.O.” on TvONE network. Reid starred in Showtime’s “Ladies Night Out Comedy Special” and toured on the “Ladies Night Out Comedy Tour” as well as alongside comedian Bill Bellamy. You can find Reid’s third comedy special “That Don’t Go Together” on Dry Bar while he works on this fourth special coming out soon.
Steve Gillespie is known for his slap happy balance of aggression and absurdity, coupled with a delightfully pushy persona that has earned him spots at some of the best festivals in the country including: The Bridgetown Comedy Festival, Boston Comedy Festival, 10k Laughs and High Plains Comedy Festival.
