ART CAMP IN A BOX NOW AVAILABLE FOR SHIPPING NATIONWIDE: 10 PROJECTS, SUPPLIES, PLUS ZOOM CAMPS FOR KIDS AGES 5 AND UP
With Social Distancing Curtailing Traditional Summer Activities, ART CAMP IN A BOX Provides Welcome Resource for Parents, Kids
With the viability of traditional summer camps uncertain due to the COVID-19 pandemic, veteran children’s art teacher Kim Bavington, owner, Art Classes for Kids introduces ART CAMP IN A BOX. Available for shipping throughout the United States, ART CAMP IN A BOX includes all the art supplies and instructions needed to create 10 distinctive art projects for kids ages 5 and older, along with daily Live Zoom Camps with Bavington and a virtual student art show to end the week. Campers will create two projects each day, each one focused on a different art genre and inspired by a different master artist.
“Normally, my summers are packed with weeklong art camps, which sell out every year here in Las Vegas—they’re my single most popular program of the year,” explained Bavington. “Knowing I would have to pivot due to social distancing guidelines, I created ART CAMP IN A BOX. I’m really excited about this opportunity because it allows me to bring art supplies and our uniquely fun and educational instruction to kids and families around the country for the first time.”
ART CAMP IN A BOX is available in two levels: Beginner (ages 5 – 8) and Advanced (ages 9 and older). Each box contains all the materials needed to make a range of two- and three-dimensional art projects, including colored pencils, oil pastels, chalk pastels, a blending stick, clay, watercolors, acrylic paint, assorted paintbrushes, canvas, glue stick, a graphite pencil and No. 2 pencil as well as cellophane, cardboard and tape for mounting artwork, different varieties of paper and written instructions. All campers also receive an Art Classes for Kids apron.
Three different Live Zoom sessions are available: June 15-19, July 13-17 and August 3-7. During each session, optional daily Beginner Zoom Camp will take place from 8:30 a.m. to noon PDT, while Advanced Zoom Camp will take place from 1 to 4:30 p.m. PDT. Snack breaks and time to clean paintbrushes and assemble materials will be built into the schedule. In addition, Video Tutorials for each project will be available through the Art Classes for Kids website for viewers who want to do the art projects at their own pace any time or day throughout the summer months.
Priced at $175 for an individual camper and $225 for a sibling box (with enough supplies and materials for two campers); boxes may be shipped anywhere in the United States. For $95, campers can opt for Live Zoom Camp and Video Tutorials access only (no art supplies included); this option was added to accommodate numerous inquiries already received from international followers of Art Classes for Kids’ YouTube and social media channels.
