AREA15, HOPE MEANS NEVADA TO COMMEMORATE NATIONAL MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS MONTH WITH COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT INITIATIVE, “LIFT UP WITH LIFTOFF”
Area Students Invited to “Lift Up” Classmates by Inviting
Each Other to AREA15’s LIFTOFF Ride with 2-for-1 Admission in May
AREA15, the immersive art and entertainment district located minutes from the Las Vegas Strip, and Hope Means Nevada (HMN), the community-based nonprofit focused on eliminating youth suicide across Nevada, will commemorate National Mental Health Awareness Month with a community engagement initiative titled “LIFT UP with LIFTOFF.”
During the month of May, local students are encouraged to “lift up” friends and classmates by inviting each other to experience AREA15’s LIFTOFF Ride. To prioritize the importance of developing personal connections with one another and overall mental wellness, riders with a valid school I.D. can enjoy two-for-one admission.
LIFTOFF is a slow-moving, observation tower-type ride that lifts up sixteen riders to heights in excess of 100 feet while strapped into a comfortable seat. The ride offers panoramic views of the Strip and the beautiful mountains that surround the city.
“One of the best things teens can do for classmates that are struggling with their mental health is to show them that they are not alone,” said Julie Murray, co-chair, Hope Means Nevada. “We are so grateful to AREA15 for creating this wonderful opportunity for students to reach out to one another and lift each other up. Showing up for friends and classmates by inviting them to spend time outside on LIFTOFF not only improves mental health but also could save someone’s life.”
“AREA15 is proud to elevate conversations surrounding mental health and wellness in the local community,” said Winston Fisher, chief executive officer, AREA15. “We hope Nevada’s youth can enjoy the fun and excitement of LIFTOFF as they lift each other up.”
To redeem this two-for-one offer, students can purchase a single LIFTOFF ticket and show a valid student ID at check-in to receive the free companion ride.
