ARDEN HOLDEN HIRED TO REBEL STAFF AS ASSISTANT COACH
The Las Vegas native brings three years of experience as a professional soccer player to UNLV
UNLV women’s soccer head coach Jenny Ruiz-Williams announced the hiring of Arden Holden as an assistant coach Friday.
“We’re excited to welcome Arden to the Rebel family,” said Ruiz-Williams. “She brings great knowledge and experience of playing at the highest level to our program. We look forward to having her on our staff and the positive impact she will have on her hometown team and community. We also thank coach Emily (Reynolds) for her contributions and wish her the best as she moves onto a new coaching opportunity.”
A Las Vegas native, Holden played professionally for three years in the U.S. and overseas, including stints with the Portland Thorns of the NWSL (2019), BIIK Kazygurt (2019) in Kazakhstan, Boavista FC (2020) in Portugal and KR Reykjavik (2021) in Iceland. Among her career highlights, she advanced to the round of 16 in the 2019-20 UEFA Women’s Champions League with BIIK Kazygurt.
Holden is coming off her first year of coaching in 2022-23. She previously served as a volunteer coach at Westcliff University (Irvine, California) during the 2022 fall season and overseas as a video scout for FC Dinamo Tbilisi (Tbilisi, Georgia) in the spring of 2023. Additionally, she has assisted with local youth club Heat FC.
“I’m grateful to be joining the UNLV women’s soccer coaching staff,” Arden said. “I’m very thankful to Jenny for giving me this opportunity and I can’t wait to start working with and supporting the players. This is going to be an exciting year for the Rebels and I’m honored to be a part of it.”
A former student-athlete, Holden played collegiate soccer at Ohio State, where she was a three-time Academic All-Big Ten selection and earned United Soccer Coaches Third Team Scholar All-Region honors. She graduated in 2018 with her bachelor’s degree in environment, economy, development, and sustainability. She is currently working on obtaining her USSF C License.
