Ahead of its May 2 opening, F1® X – a major component of the world’s largest Formula 1® attraction coming to Las Vegas’ Grand Prix Plaza – is unveiling what’s in store for guests. F1® X will be the first venue in North America to offer fans an up-close look at three of the most legendary race cars in Formula 1 history, alongside an unparalleled collection of rare artifacts and immersive experiences that bring the sport to life.

The 20,000-square-foot F1® X will put guests in the heart of the action, where speed, innovation and adrenaline combine. As the most cutting-edge and interactive Formula 1 experience ever created, it will feature artifacts never-before-seen in North America from 75 years of the sport, including historic Ferrari, Lotus and Red Bull cars; the opportunity for guests to design their own Formula 1 car; and experience the Las Vegas Strip Circuit® from the driver’s seat in a 4D environment. Tickets are on sale now at GrandPrixPlaza.com.

“F1® X will offer an entirely unique way for fans to learn about and engage with F1,” said Emily Prazer, President and CEO of Las Vegas Grand Prix, Inc. and Chief Commercial Officer for Formula 1. “Whether you are a lifelong fan of the sport or just learning about it, this interactive experience will not only educate on what it takes to be part of F1 but puts you right in the middle of the circuit. F1® X lives within the Las Vegas Grand Prix Pit Building and helps further our mission for the sport to have a year-round presence in the destination beyond race weekend.

Pit Pass

Guests will start by creating their own unique F1 experience with an exclusive interactive Pit Pass. Each participant designs a personal driver profile and creates their own F1 team, choosing a name, colors and logo.

LEARN: ETC, 75 Years of Formula 1 and F1 Factory

The first stop: the “ETC,” a replica of the most technologically advanced broadcast center on the planet. Get ready for unparalleled access as we journey into the heart of the F1 control room – a command center that rivals NASA itself, broadcasting the thrill of live races across the globe. And keep your eyes peeled for surprise appearances by very special guests, brought to life with cutting-edge hologram technology.

Journey into the “75 Years of F1,” taking guests through the history, development, technology and high-stakes competition that make up the Formula 1 global spectacle. Spanning 1950 to 2025, the space features exclusive F1 racecars, helmets, race suits, trophies and more, with many being displayed for the first time in North America. Highlights include:

  • 1961 Ferrari 156 “Sharknose” – A running replica built with original Ferrari parts, this race car pays tribute to one of Formula 1’s most groundbreaking designs. This 10,000-hour build is one of only two exact Sharknose replicas in existence, featuring a faithfully recreated 120-degree V6 motor. Now, for the first time in North America, fans at F1® X can witness this legendary machine up close.
  • 1979 Lotus 80 – This genuine car driven by Mario Andretti is making its North American debut. Andretti competed with the Lotus 80 in three races, securing a third-place finish at the Spanish Grand Prix. The Lotus 80 remains one of Formula 1’s most ambitious yet short-lived designs.
  • 2011 Red Bull RB7 – One of the most dominant F1 cars of the modern era, this genuine race-driven Red Bull RB7 powered Sebastian Vettel to 11 victories, securing his second Formula 1 World Drivers’ Championship. Though this car raced in Canada and Brazil, it never competed in the United States, making its F1® X debut the first time it will be displayed in the country.

Then, head into the F1 Factory, where guests will walk through the evolution of the modern F1 car and discover the craftsmanship behind the world’s fastest racing machines. Notable objects will include Lando Norris’ genuine race seat from the 2021 season, a never-before-seen 2022 McLaren front wing, a 2023 Aston Martin AMR23 replica, and more.

CREATE: Design Studio

In the Design Studio, fans will bring their F1 vision to life. Guests will customize their Formula 1 car using a cutting-edge digital workshop, choosing colors, patterns and livery. Their creation will be projection mapped onto a Formula 1 car for a fun photo opportunity.

EXPERIENCE: Pit Wall Experience, Pit Stop Demo, Drivers’ Briefing Room and 4D Theater

Finally, guests will take their skills to the track in a series of tasks to emulate a real F1 driving experience. This will include:

  • Pit Wall Experience: Pit Wall Experience is a thrilling test of strategy and split-second decision-making. Designed to replicate a Grand Prix Pit Wall, this high-tech experience puts guests in the role of a real F1 race strategist. Experience real-time race communication from iconic team principals and drivers and learn how they strategize for races around the globe.
  • Pit Stop Demo: When fans step into the garage and pit lane, they will work together as an elite pit crew, using real-world tools to jack the car, change the tires, and get their machine back on track in record time.
  • Drivers’ Briefing Room: Step into the Drivers’ Briefing Room and uncover the secrets behind the speed! Discover the mind-blowing dedication and almost superhero-like skills needed to become a F1 legend. Plus, get a close-up look at racing suits and helmets – the high-tech armor that lets them defy gravity and push the limits.
  • 4D Theater: The 4D Theater delivers an unparalleled Formula 1 experience through a groundbreaking 4D simulation. Featuring authentic F1 simulator seats, it immerses participants in a high-speed race on the Las Vegas Strip Circuit®, enhanced by hyper-realistic visuals, dynamic sound and visceral effects captured on the innovative F1 driver helmet cameras. Wind, engine roars and even the scent of burning rubber heighten the realism, while 4D technology puts you in the driver’s seat to experience one of the most exhilarating rides down the circuit.
  • Cool Down Room and Podium Photo Ops: Guests can commemorate their time on the track with fun photo opportunities in the Cool Down Room featuring their team design, and on the podium, to celebrate their victory.

Adult tickets are $79. Children, military and senior tickets are $69. Locals with a Nevada driver’s license and state ID are $59.

F1® X is one of three ticketed experiences within Grand Prix Plaza. The others include F1® DRIVE, an official F1 karting attraction on part of the Las Vegas Strip Circuit grid, and F1® HUB, featuring F1® SIMS, a flagship F1 store, and elevated food and beverage offerings at Fuel & Fork.

Grand Prix Plaza will be open Sunday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to midnight. Flexible event spaces with access to these attractions are available across the building’s three levels and rooftop, including three new private event spaces – Turn 1 Lounge, Cool Down Room, and GPP Garage – that will be available to rent year-round.

The attraction will close for the season in late summer to prepare for the Formula 1 Las Vegas Grand Prix, with a future reopening date to be announced.
