COUNTRY STARS SIGN GUITARS TO HELP RAISE MONEY FOR HUNTSVILLE POLICE OFFICERS AT STILL PLAYIN’ POSSUM: MUSIC & MEMORIES OF GEORGE JONES EVENT
The Wounded Blue Nationwide Fundraiser Kicks Off At AdoptACop.com
STILL PLAYIN’ POSSUM: MUSIC & MEMORIES OF GEORGE JONES will be held in the Von Braun Center (VBC) Propst Arena on Tuesday, April 25. Nancy Jones, in partnership with The Wounded Blue, Concerts 4 A Cause, VBC, and 93.3 NASH ICON, along with the artists performing at the show are raising money for Huntsville Police Department Officers Garrett Crumby and Albert Morin.
“We are honored to be part of country music’s tribute to the legendary George Jones, and to share in the honoring of our wounded heroes,” said Lt. Randy Sutton, founder of The Wounded Blue. “In just two years, more than 120,000 law enforcement officers have been wounded in the line of duty. It is our life’s goal to ensure that every one of them hears from us and knows that they are never forgotten, never alone. We are grateful to the country music family for honoring the brave service of America’s officers.”
Both officers were shot in the line of duty after responding to a call on Tuesday, March 28. Officer Garrett Crumby, 36, tragically passed away from his injuries. Officer Albert Morin, 34, was recently taken off of ventilator support and is still recovering in a Huntsville Hospital.
“I hate to hear that anyone gets shot, let alone a police officer in the line of duty,” says Nancy Jones. “I have been blessed to travel this great nation with George and everywhere we went, we were protected by the great men and women in blue. This is the least that I could do for these families. This is a tragic situation and I hope that everyone does their part to help these officers’ families.”
Now through Monday, April 24, signed guitars from an artist of the buyer’s choice can be purchased through adoptacop.com or Concerts4ACause.org with the proceeds directly benefitting the two officers.
