The Broken Yolk Cafe will celebrate the grand opening of its fourth Southern Nevada location on Monday, Aug. 12 in downtown Las Vegas on 201 S. Las Vegas Blvd, on the corner of Las Vegas Blvd and Carson. The first 100 guests when doors open at 7 a.m. will receive a Golden Pancake card, granting them free pancakes for a year. Opening day festivities include a ribbon-cutting ceremony with Mayor Carolyn Goodman and Councilwoman Olivia Diaz, along with exciting prizes, photo opportunities and other entertainment.
The new location is housed in one of Las Vegas’ most historic buildings, originally built in 1975 by renowned architects Walter Zick & Howard Sharp and known as the Nevada Savings and Loan Association Building. The duo designed many notable buildings in Las Vegas, including the Moulin Rouge Hotel (demolished in 2010), The Mint (now part of Binion’s), the First National Bank of Nevada Building on East Carson and Clark High School, among others.
Spanning 4,500 square feet, the new Broken Yolk Cafe will blend with the historic downtown atmosphere, preserving the mid-century aesthetic of the area with an open and airy indoor floor plan and shades of citrine and slate blues. A spacious, dog-friendly patio wraps around Las Vegas Blvd.
Guests will enjoy breakfast and brunch favorites that have earned Broken Yolk Cafe the recognition of “Best Breakfast” by Las Vegas Weekly. Popular dishes include:
- Crunchy French Toast, made with three extra thick slices of bread rolled in crunch frosted flakes, sprinkled with sliced almonds, raspberries, powdered sugar and topped with whipped cream and a raspberry drizzle
- Golden State Benedict, made with a toasted English muffin topped with grilled tomato, avocado, applewood-smoked bacon, poached eggs, hollandaise sauce and a sriracha drizzle
- Fiesta Burrito, made with scrambled eggs, onions, bell peppers, tomatoes, seasoned shredded beef and cheddar cheese wrapped in a flour tortilla and smothered in their house-made salsa verde and topped with sour cream, avocado and fresh salsa
A standout feature of The Broken Yolk Cafe, setting it apart from other breakfast spots, is its full bar. The downtown spot will continue this tradition while introducing an exclusive new drink offering available only at this location, the Frozen Flight, featuring four different mini frozen beverages: Granny’s Hard Lemonade, Piña Colada, Mangonada and Lava Flow.
Operating with extended hours, the downtown location will be open seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. It will be operated by ScaleX3 Management, which also manages the other three Valley locations: Southwest (9423 S. Rainbow Blvd, Suite A150); Henderson (3458 St. Rose Parkway, Suite 10); and Town Square (6805 S. Las Vegas Blvd #125).
