After a 12-year career gracing great comedic stages like the Apollo Theater, Hollywood Laugh Factory, Improv, Comedy Store, and HaHa Comedy Club, Jose moved his family back to Hawaii until a devastating wildfire forced them to evacuate. Despite the losses, Jose feels grateful to have his family and has used comedy to turn hard days and nights into laughter.
- Monday, August 19 through Sunday, August 25: Byron Kennedy
Byron Kennedy removed himself from a highly successful career in radio and the music business after his comedy trajectory took him from open mic nights to being featured in Las Vegas and beyond. Kennedy explains his fast start is exceedingly simple: “I f— hate meetings.” While still working as a record label executive, Kennedy dove into his comedy side hustle and took any slot he could at clubs in Nashville and Los Angeles. His irreverent, observational style and natural storytelling flair gelled quickly. All of which led him to a four-night opening stint in Las Vegas. Fueled by his success in Vegas, Kennedy was able to secure a featured slot at a gig in the state of Washington. Similar gigs followed and eventually, he signed a comedy album deal with BMG/Broken Bow – the record label he was previously an executive. He has since toured extensively throughout the United States and overseas and in October 2022, Kennedy made his debut on the Grand Ole Opry stage. - Monday, August 26 through Sunday, September 1: JC Currais
