Laugh Your ACTS Off While Supporting Safe Nest Shelter

Talent Show August 10 at Green Valley Ranch

Many talent shows have talent, but only one can say it benefits the Southern Nevada community!

The Advertising Community Talent Show (ACTS) will have you laughing your way to a great time while also supporting a valuable resource in our community, the Safe Nest shelter for domestic violence victims and their families.

The annual talent show is scheduled for Friday, August 10, 2012 at Ovation Lounge inside Green Valley Ranch. The show starts at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $20 and available at www.actslv.org. Tickets can also be purchased at the box office the night of the event.

ACTS has attracted all types of performers including bands, dancers, singers, jugglers and magicians to perform in the show. The performers are rewarded knowing that 100 percent of the proceeds will benefit Safe Nest. ACTS has raised $175,000 for this valuable community resource over the past 16 years!

Hosts for the event include Sherry Swensk of 8 News Now, Shawn Tempesta of The Morning Blend, Mix 94.1 and KXNT 100.5, Chet Buchanan 98.5 KLUC and Steph MacKenzie from 97.1 The Point.

Who can take part? At least one person in the performance group must be part of the Southern Nevada advertising community. It includes anyone who buys, sells, creates, designs or produces advertising, marketing or public relations. All performers must be at least 21 years old. Those wishing to take part simply submit their act information through the website www.actslv.org and will be contacted about an audition.

All performers will be given free admission to the event. Those who come to watch the talent show will need to purchase a ticket which will become a donation to Safe Nest.

In addition to the entertaining performances, there will be a silent auction featuring tickets to well known shows on the Strip, gift cards to local businesses, raffle prizes and much more.

Safe Nest, a 501(c) 3 non profit agency, maintains more than 100 beds in confidential locations as a refuge for domestic violence victims to recover from the trauma of violence. It is Clark County’s largest and most comprehensive agency devoted solely to domestic violence issues.
