MINUS5° ICEBAR AT MANDALAY BAY ANNOUNCES
NEW ICE DISPLAYS INCLUDING ROCK ‘N’ ROLL, SURFING THEMES
WHAT:
PAfter a week of ice construction by 10 ice carvers, the attraction now features new art pieces and wall displays throughout, including a rock ‘n’ roll stage with drums, guitars and rock posters frozen in ice. In addition, Minus5° ICEBAR now features a brand-new surfing room decked out with surf boards, palm trees, Hawaiian décor in ice and Tiki gods.
WHO:
Minus5° ICEBAR allows guests to chill with more than 90 tons of ice while exploring an immersive attraction featuring themed sculptures and Instragrammable moments. Minus5º ICEBAR offers a distinctively chill, family-friendly vibe for people of all ages, with signature frosty drinks served in glasses made entirely of ice.
FUN FACTS:
- Ten ice carvers with an average of 25 years’ experience each used everything from chainsaws to precision ice-carving tools to construct new art displays at the ice attraction.
- New blocks of ice used in the construction weighed in at 250 pounds, requiring four men to lift and hoist into place.
- Prior to arriving in Las Vegas, the ice was created by utilizing a special process that removes all air bubbles, resulting in the clearest ice possible.
- Minus5° ICEBAR is kept at 23-degrees Fahrenheit with a technologically advanced climate-control system that can make continuous adjustments to account for body heat or changes in humidity.
