Chefs for Kids To Celebrate 30 Years of Nutrition Education in Nevada

Chefs for Kids Dinner & Auction takes place March 12 at Red Rock Resort, Casino & Spa

Celebrate National Nutrition Month this March in style during the Chefs for Kids Dinner & Auction to be held Saturday, March 12 at Red Rock Resort, Casino & Spa. This year’s event is a huge milestone as the organization celebrates 30 years of alleviating malnutrition and hunger in children through education and awareness. It also marks the post-shutdown return of the organization’s largest fundraiser.

“To many, the Lotus flower represents regeneration and regrowth, blooming beautifully out of the murkiestiest waters,” said Heikili Apao, Chefs for Kids Chairman. “Just like the Lotus flower, our organization stands poised for this new beginning despite the hardships endured over the past two years… All we need is you.”

The evening will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a cocktail reception and silent auction followed by a gourmet dinner including caviar, shrimp scampi, and a duet of salmon filet and short ribs. The program will begin at 7 p.m. and features a live auction with chefs from casino properties auctioning off personalized in-home dining experiences. Guests will then dance the night away with the renowned band Harbor Lights.

During the event, Chefs for Kids will present corporate and legacy awards. Southwest Gas will receive the Corporate Award for their steadfast support of the organization for the past 30 years. Seven of the founders who planted the seeds for the organization will also be honored with the Legacy Award: J.B. Brown, Larry Chumley, Frank Insera, Carolyn Leontos, Julie Murray, Michael Ty, and TE Williams (posthumous).

Tickets are available at $225 per person or $2,225 for a table of 10 people. To purchase tickets, visit chefsforkids.org, or email [email protected] with additional questions.
