A MATTER OF TASTE: JUNE 2012

Bite-Sized Morsels and Tasty Tidbits from the Restaurants
at The Forum Shops at Caesars in Las Vegas

Celebrating its 20th anniversary milestone this year, The Forum Shops at Caesars continues to take great pride in bringing notable “firsts” in the culinary world to Las Vegas. From introducing Las Vegas to the first P.J. Clarke’s in the west to the newly-announced first west coast location of Carmine’s NYC’S Family Style Italian, The Forum Shops is home to a diverse collection of restaurants and unique eating options. With an array of distinct dining experiences to choose from, there’s something for every taste at The Forum Shops.

This month’s spotlight is on Joe’s Seafood, Prime Steak & Stone Crab.  Defined by a standard of hospitality and style born in the early 1900s, Joe’s offers a dining experience that is both comfortable and timeless.

WHAT’S CRACKIN’ AT JOE’S STONE CRAB THIS SUMMER
To celebrate the change of seasons, Joe’s Stone Crab is unveiling a new lineup just in time for summer.  Utilizing the freshest of ingredients and the best from purveyors around the world, Executive Chef Gary Baca has created a masterful summer menu. At the top of the list is the Parmesan Halibut ($32.95) – an incredibly flavorful dish that begins with wild Alaskan halibut that is lightly coated in a flavorful panko and parmesan crust and served with a simple lemon butter sauce to allow the fresh, clean flavors of the fish to really shine.

Joe’s is known for Bone-in steaks, but if you’re not in the mood for steak, you can’t go wrong with the Pork Chop with Spaghetti Squash, Bacon and Peppadew Peppers ($27.95).  The 14- ounce, double bone chop is immersed in bourbon and apple juice brine and broiled, brushed with an apple cider maple glaze and served with spaghetti squash sautéed with apple wood smoked bacon and peppers. This dish is one of a kind and only available for a limited time!

Of course when you talk about Joe’s you certainly can’t forget about their famous sides. New to the seasonal market card, the freshest Sugar Snap Peas ($8.95) that are simply prepared with salt, white pepper and a touch of butter, and coming soon, cult favorite Roasted Sweet Corn ($10.95) – Chef Baca’s play on Mexican Street Corn. The mid-western kernels, cut from the cob and then roasted in a smoking hot pan, finished with garlic butter, salt, cilantro and a lime wedge.  Guests are encouraged to call (702) 792-9222 for more information or to make a reservation.

Your favorite restaurant just added slices of “humble pie” to their menu and hopes that you’ll order up in an effort to support some worthy charities. Each month, Joe’s Stone Crab inside The Forum Shops will unveil a new specialty pie-of-the-month, and $1 from the sale of each slice will directly benefit a specific charity. This incredibly sweet deal kicks off this month with Joe’s famous Blueberry Pie. Available for one month only, the blueberry pie features juicy Roedger Bros. blueberries from Michigan served up in a melt-in-your-mouth buttery crust with a dollop of sweet cream. With each satisfying bite, diners will love knowing that their dessert is giving back to the Goodie Two Shoes Foundation – a crucially important philanthropic organization that provides new shoes and socks along with other services to disadvantaged and at-risk children.
