MIRACLE FLIGHTS LAUNCHES “LIGHTS FOR FLIGHTS” FAMILY PHOTO EXPERIENCE
AT DOWNTOWN SUMMERLIN®
Giant light displays provide ultimate family holiday photo opps,
generate awareness of local nonprofit, spread holiday cheer
Miracle Flights, a national nonprofit based in Las Vegas for 36 years that provides free air transportation to children and adults who need help reaching specialty medical care not available in their home communities, announces the launch of “Lights for Flights” this holiday season at Downtown Summerlin®. The interactive holiday family photo opportunity includes six oversized illuminated words – LOVE, JOY, HOPE, PEACE, SOAR and MIRACLE – that infuse the mission of Miracle Flights, light up the holiday season and provide an opportunity for our community to come together.
The lighted signs, placed at high-traffic locations throughout Downtown Summerlin, will be illuminated Nov. 19 – Dec. 31 from dusk to dawn. Each sign provides the perfect holiday background for all your Instagram-worthy holiday moments. Sponsored by local companies and businesses, the signs generate awareness and help raise funds for Miracle Flights by providing visitors with a QR code that takes them to a landing page to encourage donations to the nonprofit.
To encourage participation, Miracle Flights has partnered with Downtown Summerlin to create a “flight path” that promotes visitors to check-in at each of the six signs throughout the property.
In addition to providing donation opportunities, guests who check in via the QR code at each sign will be entered into a weekly contest to win a $250 Downtown Summerlin gift card! The more times guests visit and scan the code, the better their chance of winning. The best part, at the end of the season on Dec. 23, one lucky guest will have a chance to win the grand prize — a $2,500 Downtown Summerlin gift card! A perfect way to finishing your holiday gifting.
“Lights for Flights is a beautiful symbol of the holiday season and a great way to bring the community together and educate them about our organization while raising funds for families and children who are facing difficult health challenges,” said Mark Brown, CEO, Miracle Flights. “We appreciate this special partnership with Downtown Summerlin.”
In addition to the weekly Downtown Summerlin gift card giveaways, on Fridays and Saturdays starting Nov. 19 through the end of the year from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., Miracle Flights volunteers will be on hand in Dillard’s Court near the HOPE sign, where patrons can donate $20 to receive a limited Miracle Flights plush bear named “Miles.” All proceeds from these donations will go directly towards flights for sick children.
“Downtown Summerlin is thrilled to partner with Miracle Flights on this unique and interactive holiday family experience,” stated Halee Harczynski, marketing director, Downtown Summerlin. “The holidays are all about helping those in need. We can’t think of a better way than through this fun and cheerful experience that gives back while enhancing the holidays at Downtown Summerlin.”
