COLORADO SPRINGS, CO (UNLVRebels.com) – UNLV women’s soccer junior midfielder Lourdes Bosch has been named a 2021 Mountain West All-Conference First Team selection, the conference announced Tuesday as part of its annual postseason awards.
Bosch, a three-year starter for the Rebels, earns her first career first team honor after being named to the second team after the covid-shortened spring 2021 season and the all-newcomer team as a freshman in 2019. The midfielder had a career year, leading all Rebels with six goals scored, seven assists and 19 points. Her 54 shots ranked third in the Mountain West, while her 19 points were tied for fourth, her six goals were tied for ninth and her seven assists were tied for third.
Bosch is the first Rebel to be named to the first team since former UNLV midfielder Sophie Cortes earned the honor in 2017.
The Las Vegas native recently earned her first career weekly league award as she was named the Mountain West Offensive Player of the Week on Oct. 25 after scoring a pair of game-winning goals and adding two assists to help the Rebels beat San Jose State 1-0 and Fresno State 3-0 on Senior Weekend. At one point, Bosch scored on free kick goals in three straight games, including each of the game-winners against the Spartans and Bulldogs.
The Rebels went 12-8 overall and 5-6 in Mountain West play, just narrowly missing out on qualifying for their first league tournament since 2016. After starting conference play 1-4, UNLV finished strong, winning four of its last six games to tie for sixth in the league standings.
