“This song was not easy as we had to walk through the motions of real life in our household. My son, Preston Adam, now 8yrs old, went through his 2nd-grade year with the pressure of being bullied,” shares Gibson. “As the song mentions, he is quick to help and always enjoys doing good for others, but would come home from school in tears, stating that if he was not here nobody would miss him. I shared with him my own experiences of discouragement from being picked on throughout school, and we have turned to nightly scripture reading, prayer, and music to encourage him and remind him that he is loved, wanted, and appreciated. We called in some of Nashville’s top session players and producer Mark Croy to help share the message of ‘Temporary Mess’ to hit on Suicide, bullying, and other acts and emotions that are commonly held inside and not brought to the surface.”
Constantly working on new projects, Gibson recently released the music video for his song “We’re Gonna Do This,” which was premiered by Beliefnet. The video highlights a story that Gibson holds dear to his heart, the inspiring journey of Bailey Trinder, a fun-loving young man involved in a life-changing car accident at 17 years old. The lyrics of “We’re Gonna Do This” prove that with “hope, faith, family, and strength,” it is possible to overcome anything. Gibson has a lot planned for the upcoming months that fans will not want to miss!
