21st Annual Roseman University Golf Tournament to Support Scholarships for Future Frontline Healthcare Professionals

Roseman University of Health Sciences will present its 21st Annual Scholarship Golf Tournament on Monday, November 2, 2020 at TPC Summerlin. The tournament benefits scholarships for Roseman University nursing, dental, and pharmacy students.

“Now, more than ever, our community is realizing how critical our frontline healthcare professionals are in not only caring for individuals affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, but in managing the overall health and well-being of all members of our diverse communities,” said Michael Blimes, vice president for philanthropy and alumni relations. “We are excited to once again partner with TPC Summerlin to offer golf enthusiasts and health education supporters a day of golf on a world-renowned course, while also supporting the education of the next generation of healthcare professionals.”

Named by Golf Digest magazine as “One of America’s Best Golf Courses,” TPC Summerlin’s PGA TOUR layout was carved from a magnificent swath of rugged desert terrain by renowned golf course architect Bobby Weed, with Fuzzy Zoeller serving as Player Consultant. The course meanders through arroyos and canyons, with lush bentgrass greens, striking flora, numerous water features and an abundance of honey mesquite and pine trees contrasting dramatically with undisturbed desert washes and other raw landscape features – creating one of the most visually stunning tests of golf in Nevada.

The tournament includes a kick-off breakfast, followed by an 18-hole scramble, and after-golf awards luncheon. Check-in and breakfast begin at 6:30 a.m., and the shotgun start is at 8:30 a.m. The Awards Luncheon starts at 2 p.m. Prizes will also be awarded to the first through third place teams, as well as for longest drive and closest to the pin. Golfers will also have the chance to win raffle and silent auction prizes.

Given the social distancing policy of one person per golf cart, a maximum of 90 spots are available, so players are encouraged to reserve their spot or foursome early by calling 702-802-2830, emailing [email protected], or registering online at www.roseman.edu/golf. Tournament entry fees start at $775 for a single golfer or $2,800 for a foursome. Corporate and individual sponsorship opportunities are available, from $500 to $10,000.

“Our students are grateful for the support they receive from the community through the Scholarship Golf Tournament,” said Dr. Michael Deyoung, Roseman University’s vice president for student services. “This annual event has helped hundreds of students to serve their community as caring and compassionate healthcare professionals.”
