St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital transformed its Heart of Fashion to a virtual experience because cancer doesn’t stop and neither will St. Jude

The annual St. Jude Heart of Fashion event, benefiting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital®, transitioned to a virtual experience on Friday, June 19, streaming live on Facebook and featured St. Jude mission moments, guest speakers, live auction and more.

Leading up to the virtual experience, local influencers, including Michael Godard, Bark-Andre Furry, Ricardo Laguna, amongst others, “walked the runway” in their homes for a virtual fashion week, encouraging their followers to become supporters of St. Jude.

The virtual experience included an exclusive fashion show by luxury retailer Chloe, remarks by Wayne Sermon, lead guitarist with the Imagine Dragons and local St. Jude patient families. The event raised over $135,000 for St. Jude, which is leading the way the world understands, treats and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases.

Thanks to the generous donors who participated in this virtual event, families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food – because all a family should worry about is helping their child live. Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20 percent to more than 80 percent since the doors to the hospital opened more than 50 years ago. St. Jude won’t stop until no child dies from cancer.
