Russian-born artist Liudmila Kondakova has often been described as the penultimate iconographer of the city.  In this piece, Rooftops of Paris at Night, she uses interesting details to capture the atmosphere of the streets and the character of the city.  Her works beautifully display the shops and boulevards that contribute to the persona and reflect both a display of the present day and a rich sense of the city’s history with nostalgia and romance.  Works like this one will be available at the Martin Lawrence Galleries first public auction on April 21 at their new 26,000 square foot gallery located at The Forum Shops at Caesars.

Kondakova’s meticulous attention to every detail in her works attributes to her style of Romantic Realism, allowing viewers to experience the romantic view as if actually in Paris!  The beauty and melancholy of aged buildings synthesize a modern-day metropolis with an ancient culture and society that is signature to her style.
