THE MOB MUSEUM ANNOUNCES EIGHTH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION, WITH FREE ADMISSION FOR NEVADA RESIDENTS, PROHIBITION-ERA CAR SHOW, FEB. 14
The Mob Museum, The National Museum of Organized Crime and Law Enforcement, celebrates its eighth anniversary on Feb. 14, while hosting two dynamic exhibits: a complimentary car show featuring Prohibition-era vehicles and a display of crime scene evidence from Chicago’s infamous St. Valentine’s Day Massacre. To honor the anniversary, Nevada residents receive free admission and non-residents receive buy-one-get-one admission on that date.
The free car show will feature 15 prohibition-era classic cars from the Model A Ford Club of America and Las Vegas Cadillac Club parked outside the Museum. Guests will be able to photograph select cars and sit inside them, as well as interact directly with their owners and learn about each model.
Meanwhile, a never-before-seen compilation of artifacts selected from the Museum’s extensive St. Valentine’s Day Massacre collection will be displayed in the historic courtroom on the second floor. One display case will include detailed paperwork related to body of Frank Gusenberg, the only person found alive when the police arrived on the scene, including a diagram of his wounds. In the second display case, guests can view actual evidence from bullets removed from the victims and their corresponding coroner envelopes as well as empty shells collected by investigators from the garage floor.
All day, guests will receive 20 percent off food and beverages in The Underground of The Mob Museum as well as enjoy live jazz music playing Prohibition-era tunes in The Underground. Performing at 9 p.m. will be Amanda King, who combines the best of the jazz and cabaret worlds by applying her creative interpretation of the words, the music and the swing.
The car show will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and the St. Valentine’s Day Massacre exhibit: 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
