The UNLV women’s basketball program will host three free basketball clinics over the next two months, starting with the first one Saturday, Jan. 11, and all three will take place right before a home Lady Rebel basketball game. All the clinics will take place in the Mendenhall Center, from 1-2 pm, and are open to boys and girls in grades 2nd-8th. Every participant will also receive a free ticket to the UNLV Lady Rebel game that day.
The first clinic, on Jan. 11, will be right before the 3 pm home contest against Wyoming. The next clinic will be part of UNLV’s celebration of National Girls And Women In Sports Day, an all-sports clinic that will feature several of UNLV’s athletic teams, and that will be held Saturday, Feb. 1 before the UNLV game against Colorado State at 3 pm. The third clinic will be Saturday, Feb. 22, before the home game against San Diego State, also at 3 pm.
The clinics will have an emphasis on fundamental basketball skills including: Footwork, Defense, Shooting and Ball handling skills.
