UNLV, the only women’s basketball team in the Mountain West that opened the conference season with two straight road games, is happy to be back on its home court for Wednesday’s MW home opener against the New Mexico Lobos. The contest will tip off at 6 pm in the Cox Pavilion, and tickets for the contest at $8 for adults, $6 for seniors and staff, while kids 17 and under are free at UNLV Lady Rebel contests. Fans can also receive $3 off their admission if they purchase their ticket at UNLVTickets.com at least three hours before the game.

There will be a live video stream of the contest on the MW Network with Wyatt Tomchek as play-by-play and Curtis Stelzer as color, while the radio broadcast will feature the call of Adam Candee. Both the video stream and the radio broadcast can be accessed at UNLVRebels.com.

UNLV Game Notes ♦ The Lady Rebels hope for a change in fortune by playing in front of their home crowd, after suffering three-point loss at Colorado State on a late game-winning three-pointer Jan. 2, while Wyoming used a near-school record shooting performance from three-point range (14-of-23) for a double-digit win over UNLV Jan. 5. ♦ New Mexico brings the nation’s fourth-longest win streak into Wednesday’s contest, as the Lobos have won 11 straight and 12 of 13 this year, with the lone loss a 79-76 setback to Auburn. ♦ The Lobos will be playing just its fifth road game of the season. Two of the wins came by a combined six points (four in double-overtime at Houston and two in a 66-64 win at UNR Jan. 5). ♦ The Lady Rebels have been strong on their home courts the past three conference seasons, going 22-5 in league play (20-5 in the Cox Pavilion, 2-0 in the Thomas & Mack Center). That includes last season’s 8-1 home record. ♦ UNLV has won the past five games against the Lobos in the all-time series, and six straight in Las Vegas. The last loss to the Lobos in the Cox Pavilion was in the 2010-11 season (New Mexico did claim a win in the 2012 MW Tournament played in the Thomas & Mack Center).

FACILITY CHANGE FOR UNLV-SAN DIEGO STATE – JAN. 26 ♦ UNLV announced Tuesday that its upcoming game against San Diego State on Jan. 26 has been moved to the Thomas & Mack Center. Originally the game had been scheduled for the Cox Pavilion, it will still have a 3 pm tip.
