Final game of Runnin’ Rebels’ season-opening seven-game homestand set for 3 p.m.

The UNLV men’s basketball team (4-2) will close out its season-opening seven-game homestand on Saturday, Dec. 1 vs. Cincinnati (6-1) at 3 p.m. at the Thomas & Mack Center.
 
Several activities surround Saturday’s game, starting with a tailgate celebrating UNLV mascot Hey Reb’s birthday starting at 1 p.m. in front of the Jerry Tarkanian Statue. Fans are encouraged to wear white and the first 1,000 to the game will receive free T-shirts. In addition, 3,000 free rally towels will be given away. One lucky fan will win a trip for two to Hawaii to watch the Runnin’ Rebels at the Diamond Head Classic, Dec. 22-25. During halftime on Saturday, the 1982-83 UNLV men’s basketball team (the first Runnin’ Rebel squad to achieve a No. 1 national ranking) will be honored. Following the game, the UNLV women’s basketball team will face USC in the Cox Pavilion at 5 p.m. Fans that show a men’s ticket from the 3 p.m. game will be admitted free.
 
The Raising Cane’s Friends & Family Deal is available for Saturday’s game vs. Cincinnati and includes four tickets, four hats and four box combos for just $79 (must be purchased by Nov. 30, not available for purchase on gameday). Group tickets and a five-game plan are also available.
 
The Runnin’ Rebels had won four straight games before falling to Valparaiso, 72-64, on Wednesday night. UNLV is led by senior forward Shakur Juiston, who is averaging a double-double with 12.3 ppg and 10.2 rpg. Senior guard Noah Robotham is the team’s assist leader (4.3 apg).
 
Cincinnati (6-1), coached by Mick Cronin, has played in each of the last eight NCAA Tournaments. The Bearcats come to the Thomas & Mack Center having won six straight games and have three players averaging in double figures in scoring. Jarron Cumberland leads the team with 17.0 ppg, while Tre Scott is the team’s leading rebounder (6.6 rpg). 
 
Saturday’s game will be televised by CBS Sports Network with Ben Holden and Steve Lappas calling the action. Jon Sandler, former Runnin’ Rebel Robert Smith, and Steve Cofield (sideline reporter) will handle the UNLV radio call, which may be heard live on ESPN Radio 1100 AM and online via the UNLV Gameday App and TuneIn (link at UNLVRebels.com).
