24-Hour Eatery: Strat Café and Wok

Stratosphere Casino, Hotel & Tower has a new 24-hour restaurant with the recent opening of the new 4,465-square-foot Strat Café & Wok, situated on the main casino floor, serving elevated homestyle favorites and traditional Asian cuisine.

The design of Strat Café & Wok, inspired by the neighboring Downtown Las Vegas Arts District, is colorful and modern with an urban vibe. Bold pieces by local artists adorn the walls, showcasing Las Vegas’ burgeoning art scene.

The menu, created by Johnny Church, corporate executive chef of Golden Entertainment, and Andrew Bateman, Stratosphere’s assistant executive chef, offers an array of breakfast, lunch, dinner and late-night offerings. Breakfast selections start at $9 and include lemon poppy seed pancakes: three pancakes topped with house-made blueberry compote and dusted with powdered sugar; cornflake crusted French toast stuffed with peanut butter and mixed berry compote; and a full house breakfast complete with three eggs your way, crispy bacon, chicken apple sausage, turkey bacon, golden hash-mash potatoes and choice of toast, fresh biscuit or English muffin.

A variety of soups, salads, starters, sandwiches and burgers start at $8 and include: fried calamari with sweet peppers and marinara sauce; lobster cobbster salad with chopped lobster, crisp romaine, hard boiled egg, diced tomatoes, avocado and special sauce; and double-double hangover burger with crispy bacon, fried egg, American cheese, special sauce and a brioche bun.

Entrées start at $14 and include: seven-layer lasagna with Bolognese, tomato-basil, parmesan and a white wine sauce; bacon-wrapped meatloaf with mashed potatoes, green beans, brown gravy, roasted baby carrots with a maple glaze; and pan-seared chicken breast with ratatouille of zucchini, squash and tomato.

Available from 11 a.m. to midnight, Strat Café & Wok’s traditional Asian menu offers signature wok creations as well as appetizers, soups, noodles and rice dishes, starting at $7. Highlights include: beef chow fun dry noodles, with beef, rice noodles, mushrooms, bean sprouts, onions and Guangdong oyster sauce; orange chicken made with Hunan style diced chicken breast, green onions, dry peppers and an orange peel; Mongolian beef with shaved flank steak, onions, dry peppers and sambal; and spicy peppered prawns with breaded shrimp, red Fresno chilies, jalapeño and Schezwan sauce.
