- Friday’s 3-3 2OT tie with New Mexico was the first draw at home since a 1-1 20T tie with Boise State on October 21, 2016.
- The 2-0 win over SDSU was the second straight over the Aztecs, marking the first time the Rebels have won two consecutive games in the series since 2007 and 2008.
- The shutout against the Aztecs was the fifth of the season for UNLV
- Entering last weekend, UNLV had scored just four goals through six conference games, but the offense seemed to find its footing against the Lobos and Aztecs, combining for five goals over the two games.
- Sunday vs San Diego State was senior day for UNLV, honoring Caitlyn Kreutz, Amanda Galbraith, Kaila Brinkman and Isabella Myers. Kreutz and Galbraith both scored on the day.
- The senior trio of Caitlyn Kreutz, Amanda Galbraith and Kaila Brinkman have combined for 15 goals, six assists and 37 points.
- The Rebels finished 6-2-1 at home in 2018 and are currently 3-3-2 away from Las Vegas heading into the final three road games.
- The 6-2-1 non-conference record marked the third straight year under Shaw that the Rebels have finished with two losses or less during non-league play. That included a 4-0 mark at home in 2018.
- Since the start of the 2016 season, UNLV is 22-4-3 on their home field, compared to 13-12-2 away from Vegas. Three of the five losses in 2018 have come on the road with six of seven losses last year coming away from Las Vegas.
- The Rebels swept the Mountain West weekly awards on Sept. 11 as Caitlyn Kreutz was named Offensive Player of the Week and Emberly Sevilla was named Defensive Player of the Week, the first career awards for both and first for UNLV this season.
- With a 2-0 win at home against Montana on Sept. 9, head coach Chris Shaw recorded his 55th career win at UNLV to make him the winningest coach in program history, breaking the old mark held by former head coach Dan Abdalla, who went 54-38-8 from 2000-04.
- For the first time since 2013, the Rebels have a new face in goal with the graduation of four-year starter Jordan Sallee. Las Vegas local and freshman Emberly Sevilla graduated high school early to enroll in the spring, earned the starting role.
- UNLV went 2-0 on the opening weekend of the season for the third consecutive year and for the fourth time in five seasons under head coach Chris Shaw.
- The Rebels won their season-opener for the eighth straight year and are a perfect 5-0 in season-openers under Shaw.
- 2018 marks the 20th season in UNLV women’s soccer history.
- The Rebels were picked to finish fourth in the Mountain West preseason coaches poll, marking the second straight year they’ve appeared in the top four in that poll.
- Shaw entered his fifth season with a 49-29-7 overall record. In 2016, Shaw led the Rebels to MW regular season and tournament titles for the first time in program history in addition to earning the program’s third Coach of the Year honor.
- Senior Caitlyn Kreutz played with the Philippine National Team in a World Cup Qualifying tournament in Jordan in April.
- Associate head coach J.J. Wozniak is in his fourth year under Shaw.
- In August, Shaw added former Rebel Michaela Kelsey, who was a senior in 2017, to his staff as an assistant coach, replacing Kaley Shlaes, who served under Shaw the past two seasons.
REBELS IN THE RANKINGS
Mountain West: In the overall season rankings, the Rebels rank first in shots (262) and assists (30) and are tied for second in goals (30) and second in points (90). UNLV also leads the MW with 90 saves. Senior Caitlyn Kreutz leads the team and is tied for second in the MW with six goals – five of them game-winners (which ranks second in the MW), and is third in the league with 13 points. True freshman Emberly Sevilla leads the league with 90 saves and is second in save percentage (.840). As a team UNLV has allowed 17 goals this season, which ranks sixth. With the five goals over the weekend, UNLV climbed the conference-only rankings and is now in the top four in most major offensive statistical categories after being towards the bottom over the first three weeks of conference play.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
Colorado State
– CSU sits three points behind UNLV at 2-4-2 in the MW and 5-7-4 overall, but has lost two straight
– UNLV has never lost to the Rams in the series history (UNLV leads 5-0)
– The Ram offense has had its struggles, scoring just nine goals all season, while the defense has allowed 16
Wyoming
– Wyoming has had a strong season, sitting in a tie for third in the MW heading into the final stretch at 4-2-2 and 9-3-4 overall, but are just three points ahead of UNLV
– The Cowboys currently have a four-game unbeaten streak
– UNLV will be looking for its third straight win the series over the Cowboys
– Wyoming has been strong offensively, ranking fourth or higher in the MW in the major statistical categories, but middle of the pack on defense with 18 goals allowed.
The Rebels are celebrating a special milestone this year as 2018 marks the program’s 20th season. The official recognition took place on Friday, Oct. 5 at Peter Johann Memorial Field. The largest crowd of the season saw UNLV take down Fresno State 2-1. Twenty six former Rebels were on hand to partake in the celebration – inlcuding eight from the inaugural 1998 squad. The group was recognized at halftime.
